The UN charter is a fine piece of document if ONLY all countries respect and abide by it. However due to the West complete dominance in terms of military, financial, knowledge, technology and industry after WW2, the UN have been 'abused' by the West and now seen by the non-Western world as corrupted and ineffective. However, with the rise of China/Russia and the corresponding decline of the West, the UN can be 'reformed' to play its rightful role as a fair arbiter of conflicts between nations and help create a fairer and peaceful world where the majority of the world's population enjoys a productive and purposeful life.

I am a Canadian …..I observed The western democratic political system works this way: 99.9 % of G7 politicians were funded & supported by rich cooperations; of course these elected servants will labor 4 years time for their future investment, not for the regular peasants/voters, although it seems that they were elected by the peasants. The aim is to make as much 💵 & political influence as one can during the 4 years stay before eventually booted out to work for friendly cooperations that sponsored them initially. This process is repeatedly performed every 4 year until infinity. There’s no decent dedicated politician that actually work for their country . The system is a shame!

The BRICS needs to establish an economic power base first. From a position of strength they will likely be able to push through serious reforms in the UN. For example, why should any one country have permanent seats on the Security Council? Even worse, the USA dictates how other countries should vote. That power is already waning. Will be interesting to see how BRICS does manage to accommodate such a large influx of applicants as currently there is only a somewhat informal association and the chairmanship does get passed along each year. Know there was some talk out of last years summit of looking at several different mechanisms to allow countries to participate without full membership. I do very much appreciate your attempt to clarify that BRICS is not an enemy to the western economic blocks but seeks to develop and work in a system were laws are a priority and that such are enforced on an equal and fair manner.

BIRCS literally has no chance of being a threat to the USD or the European Euro. Currently, the USD represents 58 percent of the world’s reserve holdings, while the European Euro represents 21 percent. That’s a total dominance of 79% of the world’s reserve currency split between those two currencies with countries that are not only allies, but also trade with each other. Also, each country in the BRICs uses their own currency, with China being the only economy in BRICS worth even thinking about. And China is not willing to float their currency, which would essentially force them to give up control of their own currency, so even China isn’t really the threat many people think they are. Not to mention all the economic issues China is going through right now. Even the IMF just recently published an article two days ago where they said “Strikingly, the reduced role of the U.S. dollar over the last two decades has not been matched by increases in the shares of the other “big four” currencies-the euro, yen and pound”.
