I definitely feel like range on Ray is a bit of a bait. It makes them susceptible to AM, is only useful in a very narrow range of situations (esp with the stealth anti-synergy), and doesn't take advantage of one of their strong points - their tankiness. Oil is also really only if you plan on playing defensively. Imo, you ditch both for Armor and Shield; it makes Rays really obnoxious to try and kill. Early armor especially really punishes fang and stang counters.

With Phantom Rays you take range OR stealth, never both, because they contradict each other. Rays only uncloak when they're attacking, allowing them to get close before opening fire, but extended range makes them engage from further our, rendering the cloak much less useful.

@@ArcaneAzmadi for sure. I clicked range so they wouldn’t die to the snipers here, but that was the wrong choice. As I’ve been using them more I’ve been loving the cloak upgrade the most. It’s definitely the most interesting tech to me.

Disagree. Stealth increases damage by 40%. That can be useful disregarding the stealth component.

@@montyalb8788 OK, true, when you put it that way you just always take Stealth and never take Extended Range. Honestly, they're gonna nerf the shit out of Stealth on the next balance pass.
