Mitchell wanting to leave the Cavs was an entirely media driven narrative. He at no point ever mentioned wanting to go anywhere else. Prior to being traded to Cleveland, sure I believe he mentioned wanting to play for the Knicks as a kid. However, pretty much every pro athlete that grows up in North America has a favorite sports team that they'd want to play for when they grow up. That doesn't mean things don't change once they become adults and get into the league. A pro sports team has a lot to do with the actual people that run the organization and your teammates. If you like the people that run the organization, that's not something you should want to give up. Not to mention if you paid attention to the games in Cleveland, they love Mitchell. You don't get that kind of support in big markets, it's just the reality of the situation. There's a reason why so many baseball players end up not liking playing for the Yankees when they sign a big free agent contract there.

He did want to leave Cleveland for New York, until New York signed Brunson that summer, showed they can win with the current squad going forward, and realized he has no spot in New York. Don't make it sound like he never wanted to leave Cleveland just because he re-signed. What did you expect him to do? Leave money on the table?

They already made a bigger improvement than people seem to realize with signing Atkinson. Bickerstaff didn't run an NBA offense. The Cavs actually running an NBA offense is already a massive improvement no matter what happens with the roster. With Bickerstaff, they simply ran ISO ball that switched between Mitchell & Garland. Extremely simple to defend in the playoffs.

Lol, sure they are. They were probably the most competitive team Boston faced in the playoffs, and they were missing Allen their all-star Center the entire series. They will be better this year simply with the addition of Atkinson. The reason that the team had struggles in the playoffs was because of Bickerstaff, not the players. The reason for that was because Bickerstaff doesn't actually run an NBA offense. He simply runs ISO ball, and that consisted of switching between Mitchell & Garland and having them do everything. Actually running an NBA offense will do wonders for a team that already has plenty of good defenders on it. Trying to run ISO ball all game is awful in the playoffs.

He called him a liar in certain terms. We're getting too much of analysts personal feelings in their feedbacks. They trash talk players and when a player dares to fire back comments they get upset and declare that it's war on analysts, not everyone wants to go to LA or New York. Just like they were hyper about LeBron called klay but was quiet when Dallas got him. They look like idiots in this and trying their best to temper their wrong takes.

Everyone with strong opinions about the Cavs in both directions are spewing nonsense. The story of this team is uncertainty, nuance and maybes. "Donovan wont resign!" He resigned but on a short term deal. "Garland is a bad fit and wants out!" Darius had a really good year before this season and started the year with a major injury and losing 12 pounds he never got back. Can't trust the he wants out rumors. No reputable source on those and could just be smoke. "Cavs are gonna make no moves the GM said so!" And yet lots of rumors of interest in players. Could be posturing to keep the price on their players high who knows. "Cavs are fine! It was just injuries run it back" The criticisms have some merit. Change is needed. Maybe just the coach but maybe more. Anything could happen. Be patient guys.

Too many max players??? If that player is what drives ticket sales for that team why can’t they get the finances to represent what money they’re bringing the owners. People just want these owners to make billions on billions but hate seeing these guys make money.

They may have a good coach and a decent team, but man good luck with the Celtics, 76ers, and Knicks
@dearmas9068

The Cavs are better than the Knicks. I was worried when they got Bridges, but they just lost half their rebounding and rim defense. Cleveland only lost to them 2 years ago because theyre were inexperienced and unprepared. The Knicks bullied them. Thats gone now, and the Cavs have more pure talent. The 76ers aren't real. PG doesnt make them a great team. Embiid is awesome but hes always hurt and unlucky. The Cavs would have taken the Celtics to 6 or 7 games if both teams were fully healthy. The Celtics might be a tiny bit better next year, but probably not. The Cavs will be considerably better next year.
