In this video, I will be BREAKING DOWN ALL Of Caitlin Clark’s Assists And Turnovers in her latest game against the Chicago Sky. Caitlin Clark had a monstrous game against the Sky, tallying 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 13 assists. Although the Indiana Fever had a comfortable lead against the Chicago Sky, they totally chocked in the 4th quarter. But, through the first 3 quarters, what was going so well? It was defensive stops leading to Caitlin Clark pushing the pace! In this video, I explain further.

nailed it on the turn overs . after watching and re-watching most of the fevers games a 1/3 of CCs turn overs could be blamed on her team mates .

Caitlin knows how to run the pick and roll. That was her bread and butter in college. I think she may be trying to compensate while her teammates are still learning how to do it. Aliyah is certainly a quick study which was predicable. I think the opportunity to play with Aliyah is a big reason Caitlin wanted to come to Indiana. Anyway, you are very talented and I love your channel. The Fever should be watching your videos.

CC needs to be better at recognizing where the defenders are at off the pick and roll… understand where her defender is behind, below, or switching and this is based on how good the screen is and how tight she is to the screener, lastly the screener defender either shows to recover, doubles, or just sags… at any rate keep your dribble force the defense to commit to something then react

I thought it was interesting that Caitlin has said she learned passing angles from playing soccer in an interview once. I grew up playing soccer at a high level as my primary sport for 25 years, and we got angles beat into our heads lol. On ball or off the ball, the whole game is about taking your space and providing angles to your teammates as outlets to advance the ball. It's all about dominating possession of the ball over the other team, so you need to learn how to support each other out on the field, and that means learning how to anticipate passing lanes and providing angles to help whoever has the ball. This whole fever team could learn a lot from some soccer like drills replicated to fit a basketball team. Caitlin is so far ahead of them in seeing this stuff right now, so they're having to react instead of anticipate, which is probably contributing to some of them constantly bobbling the ball.

Thank you for this comment. Now I see how and why she plays the way she does. This is why she’s so dominant out there. She’s taken these things from soccer and applied it to basketball. She’s way ahead of everyone with this.

Yeah, soccer players pass to where a teammate should be in relation to the speed of the teammate towards the goal and this is nothing to talk about in the NBA as everyone does it. In the wnba it is a little rare to see especially those passes of caitlin that are high risk but pays dividends if the teammate catches it.

I love your compilations Mr. Carter. Assuming that the otherwise terrible Sides is a good teacher and motivator while the players don’t take it upon themselves to be taught and motivated, then these indicate that Sides may have lost the locker room; Exhibit #1: Sides has her hands cupped nearly in a prayer position close at her chest as if she’s trying to protect herself from being vocally assaulted as was captured in that famous video still shot while CC, surrounded it seems by the most reliable players, throws out her arms as if in resignation.

Great breakdown. I really miss watching Caitlin play with teammates who know basketball. I will say the Fever have gotten better but they are still only barely watchable because of lack of fundamentals and basic execution. You have one player who understands and executes them at the highest level playing with people who probably don’t understand and certainly don’t execute. I wish the young man who posted this video was coaching the Fever. He understands and knows exactly what’s going on.

Yes, Boston needs some coaching on how to set a pick. The key word is "set". Stop and plant until the defender has been shucked, then roll toward the basket. Clark needs to pass the pick setter as closely as possible, which she has not been doing well. Boston is a wide body, no disrespect intended, and I'm sure can set a very solid, difficult to get through or around, pick, if executed right.

Caitlin has few weaknesses feeding the ball for assists and you can tell how her teammates are excited about it. How much does it contribute? Everything. She had 13 assists which would be 26 points but was there some 3`s? Probably so. 26 with Caitlins 17 points would mean Caitlin was directly responsible for 43 points in the game. Good video.

Hi man - a thousand cheers for your work and videos. You add tremendous value to us as fans by analyzing these moves, and you bring knowledge, penetrating expertise, and charm. My first suggestion - add quality to your presentations; the cuts from the game run too fast and once you present your analysis, it’s hard to go back and see how right you are, and the depth you add to understanding the game. Do it is as voice over, or show the cut in slow motion, use colors, arrows etc. to flash out what you’re saying. You may need to master some more editing tools, but that’s how you, like the Fever players you’re analyzing, will grow and improve. Very soon, you may become a huge star. I can almost guarantee it, you have it in you. Don’t settle though, continue improving the quality!

I was so frustrated I posted on her X account, "STOP PICKING UP YOU DRIBBLE" somewhere around game 7. I doubt she ever read it, but not too long after that she started getting BETTER at not picking it up so much before she's ready to pass- I do think someone finally went over game film with her about it.

@@CarterMomon I went back and re-watched a portion of a couple of games. No she doesn't do it that much, you're right. When she does, she's got teammates in open positions she can get the ball to. I think it's a combination of the intense defensive pressure she is facing as well as her teammates not moving and finding open spots on the floor. However the problem is being addressed, it seems to be getting better.

Perhaps I recognize it, because I'm often guilty of it, especially in my comments. And that's repeating everything. Give him the nickname Jimmy two times or even Jimmy 3 times. It's nothing bad, it's just something that upon noticing it you'll see that he does it nearly everytime and right now I'm guilty of it because I reiterated the point twice. 5:50 - those are some of the slowest reflexes that I've ever seen by Kelsy Mitchell. Terry Shivo had faster reflexes than that. It was a lob pass in which the receiver could and should have made up any difference in the pass. Perhaps with the time running down on a subconscious level she knew that cutting off the bounce would make her too off balance and she got torn between two decisions of catching it before or after the bounce, resulting in neither. Don't know, but that shouldn't have been a turn over for Caitlin Clark, especially taking into account the shot clock.

That first turnover was Clark's fault. When you're passing to a fast break player in transition like that you have to lead them. Pass the pass in front of them..."basket catch". Caitlin didn't do that. Instead, she threw it behind the player instead of in front. That's what caused the turnover

Boston comes from South Carolina. DS knows how to coach bigs [see A'ja Wilson, Kamilla Cardoso]. They know how to "rim run" and roll. The issue here [as I see it] is CC has to slow down and setup the screens better. She's moving before her screeners get set. Allowing for the defense to play through the screens. Again, a rookie getting used to the speed of the league. I will say this about the coach. She doesn't seem to run many plays for CC, as far as I can see. Using the Steph Curry analogy, if you get CC going early, especially from deep, it would open the court for your other young star [AB].

I do not think that the WNBA coaches are going to allow CC and the Fever be successful. I think Sides is compromised. The way that the Sky coach hugged and whispered in in Sides ear when the won, but the last time they played, the Sky coach was cold to Sides and barely looked at her. The interactions was like day an night. Fever would have won the game IF Sides would have continued what they had done in the first 3 quarters. Truly looked like a thrown game.

I haven't watched much women's basketball but one difference that I notice between men's and women's basketball is the women play sooooo much more lazy. They seem to be tired and give a half ass effort at times. It's something you rarely if ever see in men's basketball. And it's not jut in reference to the turnovers, but a few of those turnovers were turnovers because of extremely lazy efforts.

Alright, so now we finally have a female who can play. Now we just need 4 more who can catch a pass and make a simple layup. And they just waved goodbye to one. Sigh.

Anyone notice that when the Indiana player (Katie Lu Samulson) hit the Chicago player with the ball, nobody said anything, the media was quiet as crickets. If a Chicago player had hit one of the Indiana players with the ball it would still be leading all the sports and news shows.

This relevent to a patern of action. If a team dose something once, then it is let go, it is not part of a pattern. When Carter yelled an insult, and knocked cc to the grond, while play was stopped, and in responce to this thuggery, Angle jumped up and celebrated. This is the beginning of a pattern, next Carter did not apologise for thug behavour , and doubled down on thug behavour, part 2 of the patern. Next Angel said she "will be the villan". Part three Angel wears the Evil shoes and elbows CC in the head. There is a patern that Chicago players have shown of violence, bad behavour and thuggery. So when a Chicago player makes a mistake and hits a Indiana plager, with out ill intent. A pattern has already been set, and Chicago players have proven they are more likely to be guilty , than innocent. Chicago players have lost their right, and waived their right to presumption of inocence. They want to be the villan, OK, you are the villan, and all your actions are intentionaly evill untill proven innocent.

Christie Sides sucks. I’ll say it. She can’t coach/teach what she doesn’t know. She’s in over head and inept. Mitchell could be great…but she’s selfish with the ball. Smith ? What TEAM? AB is at least learning how to play with CC. I see no Team…I see CC not being respected. Caitlin Clark is a better coach than Sides.

I will say it, she suks. You can't have two #1 guards either. KM is a #1 guard on another team and she has trouble catching some passes. They should trade her and get a good shooting guard like Paxton was to Jordan. CC has to step up now and demand the ball be in her hands. I'd trade #1 too.

Caitlin Clark did her job. She was awesome in point scoring, passing, inside layups, assists, etc, in the game against Chicago Sky The loss to Chicago Sky 23 June reflects the weaknesses the Fever has to fix, and Coach Sides is the core problem and has to go. Coach Sides is not just inept, incompetent, she deliberately sabotaged Caitlin Clark, hence the entire team. Fever team players, esp Wallace and Mitchell - Mitchell is the worst player on the team, if not the WNBA, poor passing, not catching passed balls resulting in too many consequential turnovers that have cost them many points scored by the other team. Needless to say, it's Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston are the 2 best players on the team who are in sync, work together like a well timed watched Their defense is weak, needs strengthening - a great defense can neutralize a great offense in a heartbeat, and bring the team to it's knees as evident in Iowa Hawkeyes loss to South Carolina in the Women's Collegiate Championship Title game. The Fever needs a deeper bench, which means attaining better players, replace Coach Sides with a competent knowledgeable experienced coach who will support Caitlin Clark, not work against her. Caitlin Clark is clearly at odds with Coach Sides as evidenced by Caitlin Clark side court argument with Coach Sides about what players to play, strategy and tactics needed that Caitlin knows very well what works, and doesn't work Of course we're talking about the Team Executive Management who picked Caitlin Clark in the first round draft pick, but refuse to build a team around her, let alone fire the worthless Coach Sides.
