In this video, I will be breaking down Why The Indiana Fever TOTALLY COLLAPSED In The 4th Quarter against the Chicago Sky. In The Indiana Fever’s last game against the Chicago Sky, both Caitlin Clark AND Angel Reese Had CAREER Games. Because of Caitlin Clark, the Indiana Fever Had A Comfortable Lead Against The Chicago Sky. But, in the fourth Quarter, The Indiana Fever TOTALLY Collapsed. What Happened? In this video, I break it all down.

What is CCs shooting percentage with someone directly in front of her the entire time? That’s the first question. The second question is…are we watching different games? Plays are set up for her to be the first option…if she can’t get her split second of an open look then she gives up the shot…she easily chose to pass 5 times that she should’ve shot during that game…she’s scared of the loss obviously being her fault.

@@duvalovertonii6601 I don't think you can say that she's "scared of the loss being her fault." I'm not sure why she was pass first and nobody really is besides her and maybe some of her teammates. As for the last shot, Boston had the better look. One of the two stars took the shot but they have to find a better look because that wasn't really in Boston's comfort range.

Mitchell wants to be the hero and resents the attention that CC is getting, that's been obvious from early season. I played shortstop and had to catch an irregularly bouncing baseball at 80 mph, it's hard for me to understand how someone can't catch a basketball lobbed at them from 60 ft. away, flailing their arms as the huge ball goes between them.

Reese is too good at drawing fouls….if you block her properly she’s gonna get the rebound and still score…what defender do you put on the best rebounder on the floor that is the best on the floor at drawing fouls and the best on the floor at the line who’s also shooting 60% in the paint rn?…you’re gonna take the defender that has a rhythm with her off of her with 5 mins left in the game and it’s all team fouls?…nothing stops Reese atp in this game.

Game Notes: - 9 Missed/Dropped (potential) dimes from Clark - Either at or clear path to the rim - 16 No return pass to Clark possessions (that failed) - 6 uncalled fouls against Clark (that mattered) - Wallace shoots crunchtime 3. Clark watches - Refs gave Reese the tying foul on Smith BUT when Smith is hit on the arm by Carter (and maybe Reese) no call at 1:37 - Smith called when Reese bodies into her, but Reese not called for hitting Smith's arm on a shot (back to back plays) 6:24 - Refs also give 2 quick, inconcongruous fouls at 7:55 to 7:40 including when Reese just falls on her own face - Reese played a great game - with her rebounding and finishing and... Reese is 3-0 vs Clark for knocking her to the floor EACH game: Game 1. Knocked Clark back with her hips then hooked and swung elbow to throw her down 1-0 Game 2. Accidently swung her arm 3 feet below the ball to smack Clark on the head and knock her down 2-0 Game 3. Knees Clark in the thigh (by accident of course) knocking her down (at 2:51 inbound play) 3-0 - Sheryl Swoops gives Reese a 1 minute hug. Reese notes how Swoops "has been there for me"... very similar to how Swoops has been there for Clark. - why is Erica Wheeler giving Angel Reese a high five, or a low five?

Great film breakdown. You're so right on so many points here. From Kelsey Mitchell's poor awareness level while the team is running offense to your point about her showing bad body language when giving CC the ball to bring it up court is super spot on. Also, your point about Kristy Wallace's inability to recognize and take a wide open mid-range shot couldn't be more spot on either. Lastly, your point about the team's overall bad screening action, particularly in the 4th quarter, is another great point as well. Just soooo many executional errors with this team, particularly down the stretch, that are obvious tell tell signs of bad coaching.

Everyone who's ever played hoops on an organized team "Knows" that their minutes are based on "Doing what the coach wants". Ergo, when looking at a Fever game, and criticizing the play of any particular player, we must factor in the assumption that the player in question is trying to perform the action as demanded by the coach. I think a number of the Fever players have been "coming around" to the reality that any Fever team success will happen when the team's game is structured around CC. Hopefully the next Fever coach will recognize this reality from the get-go, before all hope for a cohesive team effort is lost forever.

Great analysis. All of the points you made show how poorly this team is coached. These non-screens are so prevalent, it appears it is either what Sides is coaching or Clark’s teammates do not know how to set a screen (which again is coaching because they see what we see). Pin down screens off the ball were run for Caitlin a ton at Iowa and they work. Throughout that 4th Quarter, you had players going one on one from spots that were way outside their skill sets. And the one player on offense who can execute plays perfectly is basically left out of the offense. Sides is an horrendous coach.

Great analysis AGAIN, Carter!! I was thoroughly irritated before we reached the 4th period. They devolved back into five individuals yet again!! Watching your analysis was enraging, I had missed the fact that a couple of them also seemed to be mad at Caitlin. Mitchell had the “pass” you showed and Smith threw the ball so far forward that Caitlin had to scramble to get to it before the defender. If Smith can’t handle the post, bring Hull in. If Boston is fading, rest her and bring Hull in. Angel bangs, but she had to because she misses so many lay-ups. That’s where so many of her offensive rebounds came from. Caitlin played more minutes (40) than anyone else and was still trying hard at the end, yet Sides throws her under the bus, with her “I thought she would shoot”. I agree with everything you said!!

Reese has a technique she has figured out that pads her stats and gets defenders into trouble. She receives the ball and crashes into the paint. As soon as she makes contact with a defender she whiffs up an unorthodox "shot" from hip level toward the basket. It may or may not go in, it doesn't matter. The object is to get a foul, get lucky and make a basket, or get a rebound. Reese has the 6th highest number of free throw attempts, 86, in the whole WNBA. This gets her defenders in foul trouble, pads her total point and offensive rebound stats, and takes the opposing team out of their transition offense and makes them play half court slow ball. There are compilation vids of Reese taking these crazy weird shots. IMO she has stumbled upon this technique and the results speak for themselves.

The fact that was even called a foul at 4:56 shows just what "special whistles" Reese was getting all night. Reese's elbow throwing on the box outs was much more agressive than this foul is.

You nailed it on the head when you said CC is viewed as a role player instead of their best player and until this changes the team will be struggling instead of thriving and you risk breaking whatever greatness she could have brought to your organization. Right now they are playing Russian roulette with the ability of CC to ever becoming a game changer in the WNBA.

Carter! Can you believe this? Lin Dunn just waived the best defensive player on a team that has no defense. This is the same Lin Dunn who begged Christie Sides (who didn't want to be a head coach) to be the coach. Oh yeah, and the owner has said he treats the Fever as a tax write-off. This team is incompetent from top to bottom. And Caitlin is stuck here!

Damn this was a great video! Personally I would love any other videos you do with analysis of this team. I do not know enough about basketball to judge the quality of play and coaching the way you can. But this and other videos I've watched help me learn so much. I do know most people feel Christie Sides is not the right coach, and after this game I have to agree. Something is just not right and it is coming from the top in my opinion. Thanks for this!!!!

Anyone notice that when the Indiana player (Katie Lu Samulson) hit the Chicago player with the ball, nobody said anything, the media was quiet as crickets. If a Chicago player had hit one of the Indiana players with the ball it would still be leading all the sports and news shows.

I’m a huge college football fan. More often than not when a team get ahead in score and take their foot off the gas they end up losing the game because they can’t re adjust when the other team starts catching up.

That is why what Sides says is BS. She isn't running plays to get cc the shot. She is just throwing CC under the bus to cover her bad coaching.

Wheeler is a bestie of Sides no wonder she is given more preference. When Wheeler is in Clark should not be in the court. A great loss for defense waiving Celeste, last game Taylor should have been given a 24/7 instruction to guard Reese instead of the defenseless Smith. Clark should have 15-20 shots per game for the Fever to be on the playoff.

Dude you're doing great breakdowns of the games. But on this one I had to always stop and go back to try and see your point of view. Are you in a rush because you have so many clips, trying to keep your vids short? Almost every clip I had to go back and replay. Try using a 'let's look at that again' aspect. Cheerz.

I think that this breakdown was valuable and revealing. But it would be helpful if the footage were played _during_ the commentary, and more especially if it were also _replayed_ during the commentary, particularly if it were replayed at slower speed. My only other criticism is that on the pass the Fever's Mitchell missed at nearly a minute left, there really was no way that she could have caught that pass, as it hit her shoulder. (The space bar acts as the pause/play button, while the comma and period keys skip one skip one frame forward and backward.)
