I’m not sure about other states, but I know in PA & NJ, you can selling a liquor license. Liquor licenses (i.e. an establishment that can legally server all types of liquors) are really expensive. This is why you see places like BYOBs. It all varies from state to state but after read the OP’s comment, I’d imagine it’s fairly common. Hope this helps!

I think you are both right. I am in NO WAY stating Dave is a narcissistic person, though - his mocking is the kind of thing my mother has done to me, as well as my grandmother; and there is diagnosed narcissism, in my immediate family. It’s in One’s best interest to not be upset at the reality of this social media culture, when in this kind of situation (to which, there are plenty of things detrimental to society, regarding social media. I don’t think food reviews are one of ‘em). If that pizza owner had any sense of effective leadership, within his business - he could have said something along the lines of “Well, I do not agree, with your review of my pizza. However, what kind of changes would you consider making, Dave? Where do you think this pizza falls short?” It doesn’t hurt to be open to the perspective of others. And if the owner chose to go the less egoic and defensive route - he could have played Dave and his audience like a gosh darned fiddle, and had all of this turn out in his and his business’s favor. Respect is going to go so much further. And hell.. The guy didn’t even hear Dave’s review. Dave didn’t even give the pizza an all over bad review. Yes I agree with you 100% because the One Bite app had an 8 for a rating with 50 reviews so he should've been happy to see Dave but he knew his pizza was crap with the cheese and sauce dripping off of it all sloppy and he's heavy handed with parmesan so he just knew when one of his employees told him Dave was outside that he was going to get a terrible score. It's his own fault. Make good pizza and you have nothing to worry about.

The pizza itself makes the store, but rudeness to very powerful inspector can definitely break it. Dave did something similar to this a couple weeks ago where he re-scored a spot he had given a very high review because the owner talked a bunch of trash about him to a tabloid.
