I love using the Swiss method as well, I also wanted to mention it’s important to rest the Macarons because if you don’t then the skin won’t form on top and then they won’t form up right in the oven.

Quiet exact for non french person everything true except for the last step. Before baking you should tap the baking sheet on the table to stabilize it's called macaronage and that is literal translation for "macaroning"
@bromabakery2 жыл бұрын
Except when you make a Swiss meringue (opposed to traditional French) you don't need this step ;)

@@bromabakery many think that the history of macarons began in Paris, but in reality the macaron has very Italian origins! The macaron, an ancient medieval dessert that originates in Venice, derives its name from the Italian dialect “maccarone”, which in Venetian meant 'dough'.

Italian macarons of Venetian origins

Guys, her macarons are just fine. First of all, yes they are Swiss macarons not French but most people just call macarons ‘French’ anyway because it’s just the name for the original thing. Like a French macaron. But then difference ways developed like the Swiss or Italian way due to the meringue part. Also, if you think she skipped so many steps or did something wrong/badly, isn’t that just exactly why this recipe is so great? Even a beginner could do this. And her end product was still so good. A lot of recipes will fail horribly when even a gram of ingredients is off. But this looks so much more comfortable for the average home baker. So next time please don’t be rude… you can comment your opinions but when you know they’re not actually helpful and only upset her, maybe don’t write them 😢

@tree1427 Жыл бұрын
Swiss method still makes French macarons… the French part is the cookie, because it is just a almond cookie made with a meringue, almond flour, sugar ect.
@kelseyrichelle4900 Жыл бұрын
It's the technique used. This is a Swiss method by melting the sugar into the egg whites. The French method does not do this 😉
