One of the questions I receive the most is what do I do for a living. I do KZbin videos. Today I will give you a realistic and honest overview on my KZbin income, I’ll share my channel’s analitics and educate you about the ways that content creators can monetise their channels. We will talk about KZbin monetisation, but also I will show you a bit of Vietnam and share my lifestyle and expenses of living here.

From what I saw I think she would do well online I would encourage you to help promote your mom’s work. thnx for this insight into your life now after leaving Russia. I visited Vietnam myself a few years ago after changing my nationality from UK to Dutch (due to the problems I anticipated from Brexit). As I passed through the airport passport control their system picked up on the fact that I was now using a Dutch passport instead of a UK passport - which required a lengthy explanation before I was admitted 😀

As long as I've watched KZbin, I've wondered about how the money works. For a while I assumed content creators did it for free as a hobby. Then I heard they could be compensated and now I know a little more about it, thanks to you (I've never seen anybody else talk about it). You kind of lost me in all the various sources of income and I came away thinking, "This guy needs a sharp accountant." I assume you pay taxes somewhere (or not?). Regarding the prices of things, I was very impressed by the Vietnamese supermarket (those peppers you bought look EXACTLY like some for sale in my local US market). We've had a lot of inflation in food prices this last year and I'm probably behind the times in our prices but the Vietnamese prices looked like maybe 30-50% of US ones (note: I live in one of the most expensive cities in the US but also one of its most diverse and food crazy where, for example, good sourdough bread is a specialty: San Francisco). Loved the view from your apartment and the apartment itself looked quite nice and, if I understand your income correctly, should be quite affordable. By the way, I own a motor scooter that seems very like the one you drive (from what I can see). In my case, I have it because parking a car in San Francisco is near impossible but parking a motor scooter is pretty easy (on the sidewalk if you have to).

Shortly - there are a few companies that provide health insurance for world traveler and expats abroad. If I stay only in Vietnam, I'd use a local insurance or a Russian insurance but since I travel frequently I use one of the international insurances that secure me in any country around the world (I pay 42 USD per month for my insurance, that works anywhere but not in the States/Canada, it's for an additional fee). In the past, Russians said it was not what Russians did. In the US, it's called an emergency fund. Have a reserve of about three months of expenses saved to cover your cost of living in case of emergency. Sickness, sudden huge expense, etc to give of you peace of mind. Of course, you can save more than that. People save to buy a car, an apartment, go on a long vacation. Looking forward to the second channel.

Most views from USA, Canada, UK and Europe and your most popular videos are all about the negatives about Russia since the war began. You keep on going along the same lines and you will a have lot of views from them cus they only want to hear about how Russians are suffering and it gives them great satisfaction.

The pay probably isn’t much but hopefully enough to survive.. most importantly is to be able to do what you like and enjoy life without being stuck in a unpleasant job.

KZbin is a Scrooge honestly. The amount of work content creators put in for a long period of time equals a whole lot more. But KZbin is not build to support enterpreneurship (however you spell that), instead it seems to be glorifying hardships and idolizes sensationalism. You're an inspiration Niki! You totally deserve more of your work from KZbin itself.

Hi Niki! I really love your channel and your insight on different topics. Also, I've hadly seen youtube content creators who are willing to be open about youtube revenue and for this I appreciate the channel even more. It encourages people who may want to become content creators. Keep up the good work, really appreciate it. Greetings from Romania 😊

Funny you never used the "drying machine" before. We all have them in the USA. Its called a "dryer." Very convenient.

Niki, Compared to the USA your apartment is really nice and super cheap! The same with your grocery trip. And I would call the view from your balcony (A million dollar view)... As usual you are very informative and please keep up the great work!

I always have a soft spot for Vietnam because I had several Vietnamese friends back in high school. They taught me some words like F U or F your mother! You know, essential words.

Your comment about using a clothes dryer was a reminder to me that most of the world does not have these. In America they are very common because we like to wash and dry our clothes quickly, it seems. When I was a child, however, we hung up a lot of clothes to dry on clotheslines in the sun, and I still remember the smell and feel of freshlylaundered sheets for the bed. Does your mom have a picture catalog of her ceramics? If so, could you provide a link to those? The two items that you showed very briefly in this video were very intriguing. I would like to see more. Lastly, the price you paid for your shopping trip was incredibly cheap by American standards. I shudder to tell you what I spend for a single person in one month -that of course is due to inflation that we are experiencing right now and which I hope will get better in the near future. I will be sure to check out your other channel. Спасибо и пока ❤

Spasibo! My mom doesn't have a catalog yet, I think eventually I'll help her to set up a store and show her artworks to people. Oh and every time we wash clothes in Russia we just hang it on a balcony and wait next day :)

Great to see you in Dalat, Nikki. I spent time there 10 years ago and liked it, but it looks much more developed and accommodating to western people now. I eventually settled in Thailand because I found Vietnam too noisy, but your video has reminded me how much I liked Dalat. Good luck in your travels!
