For anyone going on a future cruise, who doesn’t drink as much like myself, ordering the refreshment package that includes the Mocktails you can easily ask for something virgin and then order a shot of your choosing which in my opinion is way better if you don’t drink as much to use the deluxe package.

Our cruise is coming up in 3 weeks, I see the current price for the deluxe alcohol beverage package is $565/pp. So glad I took advantage of a combo deal of beverage & internet they offered $411/pp about 2 months ago. Always - book your drinks, meals, & excursions early to get the best pricing !

Carnival Sunshine is $51/night, but I have another person in my same room that doesn't drink that much. It will be $700+ for 7 days if I do it. If I buy 3 $20.00 drinks then I come out on top. I just gotta find a way to sell other drinks for $5 & $10. 🤔

These packages are nearly $100 per day per person and the best discount you can hope for is 20% which is taken up by the gratuities.

I drink a lot of specialty coffee, water, fresh juice in addition to my alcohol drinks, so I really appreciate having the drink package option.

We agree. We love not having to worry about a big bill at the end of our cruise. We both drink lots of water throughout the day as well as a number of non alcoholic drinks. So those combined with our adult beverages always seem to make it a good value for us.

love drinks package, for a 24 hour period with all the different drinks and no surprise bill at the end I always get it, we get the refreshment for kids as well, it has always paid off after tracking what the kids got

You’re welcome. The value really depends on your drinking habits and whatever discount you get on your package. One thing to keep in mind is that we find that we tend to drink a little more on a cruise than we do at home. If you tend to drink a little more on vacation than at home, it may be a good idea.

My wife and I are going on a 23day cruise which includes a TransAtlantic crossing ,neither of us drink soda water (coke ) etc or alcohol only water coffee and tea ,so I think a drink package is not for us at a cost of $1600 approx for the 2 of us ,Thanks for the Video with all the info

Celebrity has premium drinks up to $15 for $63 per day on a sail away fare. I love both but for the food on Celebrity it’s worth the very small difference in fare. When I want to party find me on Carnival! Never sailed NCL because I always find them expensive.

I think Carnival has the most inexpensive drink package on average, but some people don’t like the 15 alcoholic drink max. I think all the packages have their pros and cons.

How does the drink package work for staterooms with multiple adults and children? Does everyone need to purchase a package? If 1 adult gets the deluxe, are both adults required to purchase the same package? Can only the adults purchase a package and young children (that do not drink fizzy/sugary drinks) skip out of a package?

All adults in the cabin have to purchase the deluxe package, but the kids are not required to purchase a drink package. Also, you may purchase the refreshment for just one person, but you’re not supposed to share it. Keep in mind that they are supposed to make you wait 15 minutes before getting another beverage with any package

I have a quick question. Is it 15mins in between any drink you get whether it’s water,tea,milkshake etc? Or is it you have to wait 15mins in between for alcoholic drinks only?

I think it’s just alcohol- maybe soda, too? We often ask for a water when we get a drink, and we’ve never had an issue. Neither of us drink soda, so we can’t really answer about that.

The issue with these packages is that once you order one, they require you to purchase another for the roommate in your cabin.

So true. It’s definitely an issue if one of you doesn’t drink or doesn’t drink much. I’ve seen where some people get around that by changing their rooming arrangements, but it’s different for everyone. We’ve always found that the value is there for us. We tend to indulge a bit more on a cruise, and we’ve never been disappointed by a drink package

I think you have to wait 15 minutes between sodas, but I’d bet you could get a bottled water from a bartender if you happened to be near a bar. It just depends on the bartender

We get the soda package free as a loyally perk & smuggle our own booze in bladders. It's not hard & the cabin stewards dont care. We dont drink near enough to justify the liquor package. Plus you can bring two bottles of wine.

I was told the deluxe was 100 a day by Royals customer service. That’s completely ridiculous. I’m seeing everyone saying 40-60 dollars where is this deal coming from?

I don’t know how they decide who to send the deals to. I’m sure there’s som sort of algorithm that determines who gets them, abs if we knew what the trick was we’d make a video about it. Hopefully you find a special deal soon.

That is a really good question. We’ve never run into that problem. I would like to believe they would at least give you OBC, but it’s just as likely they wouldn’t do much. I think your best bet is to go through a travel agent. I think they might be able to pull some strings and get you something in return.
