I’m not a performer or singer in any capacity but have sang Mrs. Lovetts parts to exhaustion in my car (LOL) and yes the phrasing and figuring out when to breathe is a challenge. Sweeney is my fave musical. Everything is SO well thought out and crafted it gives me chills!

He did alter the monologue somewhat, otherwise you wouldn’t get rhymes like “pie, Sir,” and “try, Sir.” The subjects she broaches are the same, but he added some structure for the chorus and the rhymes
