How am I the only one who understands how this works? Napier was announced to stay solely because of the Lagway injury. If Lagway had the ability to show his personal/single-handed dominance, Florida could've finished this season with 6+ theoretically (solely, considering Lagway as the starter post Mertz) (but Lagway would have likely transferred after playing the rest of the 2024 season for finances or collegiate opportunities or to be back in Texas near his family). the resulting in Napier firing. The Lagway injury was significant to napier's career, because they became a tandem deal for the 2025 season at Florida. The Lagway injury reduced his value in the transfer portal, even though there was clear value in his potential. His relationship with Napier and the willingness of NIL deals from pre-existing relationships were conducive to Lagway staying at Florida for the 2025 season conditionally associated with Napier being his coach

Here's my question. What in Florida football history entitles us to think we should be elite every year? We had a few good years in the 90s with a national title and a couple good years in the 00s with two national titles. The rest of Florida football history is mediocre at best. Why do we think we are a premier program or a premier job for a coach? We sort of caught lightning in a bottle twice with Spurrier and Meyer and that's it.

That's refreshing. I have been saying all along that I don't want Lane Kiffen so I was expecting that to be the only reply to this comment. It's refreshing to not be alone in that for once. Lane can't win big games. He is better than Napier but he is also not a Spurrier or Meyer. He would be a stop-gap while looking for the _next_ coach. So. Just stick with Napier until we find the actual coach we want.

So he's staying because he almost beat Tennessee and Georgia? Jesus we are the new Vanderbilt. This is his 3rd year. In all 3 years he's lost 3 plus games. Oh! He must be killing it in recruiting right? Nope not even in the top 40 in recruiting. What coach has ever had 3 consecutive losing seasons and magically turned into a championship winner? Exactly!

Just kills me wondering what could have been if will Grier had stayed at Florida and didn’t get suspended for the rest of that year cause n we still had some of muschamps guys and had just beaten Tennessee and #3 ole miss in prime time. Oh what could have been.

Right now recruiting isn’t looking to good and that’s the main reason he was hired to begin with!! Florida should never be in the 50s
