Great Show! Food addiction is real. For me, it was a spiritual illness. 70 pounds gone for 2.5 years so far. Don’t give up. ❤

I can totally relate with being bored as a stay at home mom. Especially with us only have one vehicle. We are stuck. It’s hard, but I’m thankful I have the opportunity to be the one taking care of my children and loving on them ♥️

I was there recently. I'm so sorry it is very very hard. I slowly got gym equipment for in the house. First I got just a stepper, just the little feet peddles. Then got the dumbbells, you don't have to spend $200 - just get a bar and 5lbs at a time. Some posters for dumbbell exercises and watched Athlean X videos on youtube. I hope this helps you. It's so hard being alone all day with kids with no car. But, you're doing God will! God bless you!

I loved this but...don't think enough was said about how adopting new eating habits doesn't mean you enter into a lifestyle of deprivation or lack of enjoyment. You CAN EAT healthy AND enjoy your food. It's partly retraining your mind to enjoy foods that are more nutritional and being aware of portion control. I wish they had talked about how healthy food really can be DELICIOUS!!

I think the main things she mentioned were around not focusing on the food, as with a preoccupation, but trying to refocus on other things like devotions, the other guests at a get together , etc.

Work has been so stressful for me. All of the points Amber brought up are great...quiet time with God, exercise for stress management, casting our cares...as I have my prayer, Bible, journal time with God this morning I will cast my care about my work day on Him. 🙏🆙️

I have been a fan of Amber for several years. I appreciate her relatable approach, whether it's to parenting or being healthy. I bought this book on pre-order. It kick started a healthier lifestyle for me. It's practical and simple to implement but like any change, it takes discipline.

I also give myself the opportunity to eat whatever i want, but just 2 or 3 small bites. So basically if i go to a gathering with food, i can taste everything i want to, i just don't eat a whole serving.

Overeating is the most acceptable sin in the Church. Alcohol, drugs, and porn use are all behaviors more often confronted than is using food to comfort our souls. And it can destroy relationships just as easily as the aforementioned idols.

Loneliness is a big trigger and it’s daily if you live by yourself and not that outgoing. It’s mixed with stress from having to handle everything yourself. Food is your best friend for relieving loneliness and stress. But it’s so temporary and you just have to eat more and more. When I’m with others I don’t really want to overeat. So that’s not a problem then. Living with a relative I lost weight without even trying to. I had someone to talk to about anything, fun stuff or something I was going through at the time. Loneliness and stress was lowered. Then when back by myself I overeat again. It seems I go a bit crazy if I don’t use food to get through the loneliness. The stress makes me feel frozen in place so I can’t do anything except eat lots of carbs. You did not mention loneliness. I know you have a family so that is not your trigger. Not sure if that is in your book but it should be. There are so many people living alone and not liking it.

I know how that feels since I have been staying alone for a long time now. Food has been my go-to thing and of course tried to defend on people also. Later on I realised that no matter how easy these options night seem to you, unless you are anchored in the Lord, there is an underlying restlessness all the time. Spending time with Him and being obedient is the only thing that has ever worked for me. Not saying that it is easy to get into that stage, struggles are there but once you get there, the going is smooth. Praying that you find comfort and rest in Him. ❤

while i understand what she is saying 100% i feel like biblically though food is not solely for fuel, it is also meant to be something that unites us and we all enjoy together in a celebratory matter. in heaven there will be a “feast” or “banquet” at weddings in Jesus time even there was a feast . breaking bread is more than just for nutrition. we can honor God and enjoy eating food.
