(1) Simon Mabon, the investigations into Israel's faults over the 10/7 attack against it by Iran and its proxy Hamas will happen. For now the primary goal is to take out Hamas' military and to reestablish Israeli security control over Gaza so that another 10/7 is impossible. And to a large extent that has already happened. (2) What Israel might do to ensure its security / survival is to expel the Muslim population from at least part of Gaza and annex the territory. But unfortunately that doesn't look like it's going to happen.

The lack of a cease-fire isn't the problem. The unwillingness of Egypt to allow civilians to leave the war zone, as required by "international law," is the problem.
