One of the most interesting things is seeing how your swing is pretty consistent off the tee, but the ball goes all over the place.

He's pulling back. You call it "hitting with intention", when he was doing that tee work, he wasn't thinking it through like regular tee work where the ball _should_ go just about the same place (atleast the same general direction: Pull, up the middle, oppo), because he's intentionally dampening his swing. Also just the most minor changes in the position of the bat when it strikes the ball, the angle of the hit, and even the way the ball is oriented on the tee will result in the flight path going all over the map. But mostly just going for a consistent bat speed instead of a consistent bat path and having fast hands, which are pillars of actual hitting tee work.

That's the thing I dislike about composites. All bats break, but these (composite) bats, whether it's BBCOR, USSSA, or USA, are DESIGNED to break and break quickly to give high power for a rather short period of time. I had zero monies in high school, and I played with the same random green easton through 1 hs season and 4 rec league seasons, he's not great, but that sucker has stuck around and I love it for that. Meanwhile some kids are gonna see videos about the Icon or Meta and think composites are the cat's pajamas, and they'll need a replacement 2 years later when it reaches it's limit. These videos are great advertising in that way, because aside from vids like this one in particular, you never see the break-in process, or the bat breaking, you only see the 200ish hard hits you get in between.

He calls himself a jabroni, but he hit in college, he ain't the strongest, but don't confuse that for him being weak. Honestly he doesn't give himself enough credit for his videos and performance, which really sell the bats to kids. He's a damn good hitter that can make alot of crummy bats look good by being a good hitter. I NEED HELP. As a highschool hitter I am about 195 6’4 junior. I currently game a 34 adidas aeroburner hybrid. I love the feel but it’s just a bit too much and I can’t find any more aeroburners in the 33 that haven’t been hit by a truck. What bat is the closest in comparison to the aeroburner hybrid? Based on your scales it looks like the gunner, but the select power has the same weighting rating and I have found I can’t swing the pwr comfortably with how balanced it is. Do you think the gunner or goods would be a good choice?

i find the best way to break in your bat is just tapping balls up to yourself around the barrel, then doing short-toss for a bit, then hit live BP. should be ready enough to use in game, and then the more you use it in game the better it gets until it blows up

The cool thing about breaking in a bat like this is that it requires you to practice like crazy! 300 hits is no joke (I'm obviously an amateur).

This video is informative. If you're 15-16 with a CatXCompo, 250-300 swings would probably break your bat in nicely. Maybe even a little extra juicy. A full-grown adult at 25 of age probably saws the CatXCompo in half in 250 swings 🤣 Definitely take break-in instructions with a pinch of salt. But the most common way to tell a bat is broken-in properly is a muffled, more dense sound than it's wrapper sound. What it sounds like in the wrapper is what it should SIMILARLY sound like, IN MOST CASES, when it's broken in nicely. But again, every bat is different, it's tech and it's layout can determine the way the composite breaks-up and how much it needs, so always take to the internet and see if you can find someone who had success with their break-in periods with certain bats, get a few different opinions and then work out roughly how you'll need to go about the process to more than likely succeed in breaking-in a new Compo.

I think they have those instructions because a normal 13-14 year old has maybe a 75-85 ev it would probably be a better break in process for you to just take 100 hacks off bp because you have a 110 ev
