Well, my Classic '70 Challenger Convertible had 5 theft attempts! But i rigged her so only I knew how to start her. However, someone had bn watchn me bc 1 nite, they too, climbed thru the passenger side, got the steering wheel lock (that i rigged, too) OFF, but then the alarm sounded & he ran out the driver's side. I finally had 2 take her back home & stored her @ my Sister's in the backwoods. 😥 smdh...when u got somethin nice, EVERYBODY WANTS 2 STEAL IT FROM YOU. 😬

My boyfriend has a Dodge Charger and has been broken into 3x already, and we couldn't figure out how it happened given that it needs a key to open. This video was the first to pop up when I searched for answers, and we went back to look at the keyhole and we saw it!! The keyhole is jacked up and it has for sure been tampered with. Thank you so much for doing this video for bringing awareness to how easy it is to get your Dodge Charger broken into. We were thinking of doing a steak-out, installing go-pro cameras, and getting an entirely new key to avoid future discrepancies. I came across this rather terrifying video researching dodge charger alarms, so I contacted Dodge directly. They claimed to have never heard of this before. I submitted a complaint. I believe the thief was searching for cash which there was none, and then put the screw driver into my 300 dollar tire.

I have a 2007 charger and somebody broke into it using something. I think they had a key device that pops the lock because my key hole looks normal. But I didn't even know they had broken into it until I looked for my registration and insurance stuff. They took that and my emergency car bag I had in my trunk. I don't keep any important things in my car now. Everytime I get out I take it with me.

My 2007 Charger RT was broke into at a Dodge Dealer and they stole my never on the ground (4) tires while it was sitting out side at night. The Dealer claims they used (SLIM JIMS) to get into my car. No physical damage to my car just stole my tires (2) in the backseat and (2) in the trunk. My question is: Can they use (SLIM JIMS) to open doors on these newer cars? Great video using the screw driver. It does destroy the lock and that can get expressive. Thank you for showing your video. Keep up doing what you do.

They got in through the vertical bar on the window. What made me notice that the car was broken into immediately after coming home from a trip was that the remote start wasn’t working and the battery had been drained. Not sure why that was the case. So when I got to the door and opened it, I noticed that the interior edges of the door panel (at the top where the window slides up and down) was peeled/curled up on both the front drivers and passenger side windows. It’s not evident that they took anything. I got in the trunk and it looks like some stuff was peeled back on edges where the sub is. Not sure what to make of it or how to fix the outside of my door, or the insides of doors by the windows, but it doesn’t appear that they got anything. What do you think? Quick recap: they basically jammed something in the top corner of the window frame assembly on the car door. Somehow they were able to pop the door open this way and it left my car drained. Not sure if they were trying to steal the car or what, but I need to find out how to prevent it.

I have a 2011 charger my car has been broken in through the keyhole 4 Times, twice at the same movie theater and once at the gym in the middle of the day on a Sunday. Good vid, somebody did this to me back in 2009 on my 07 magnum. The only way I knew something was wrong was by my amp not clicking on when I cycled the key. They went under the door handle and the key hole. Been hesitant on getting another dodge.

Yes, my 20016 Challenger was broken into through the window. They slim homes it I believe. When I drive 80/85 it whistles through the window where they did it and there was scratch marks left on the window tint.

Is there another way to prevent the car door from being opened? Like an external/3rd party lock? Disabling the wire is not prefered because it has to be reconnected when you sell the vehicle, and requires you to wire up some jumper cables to the outside of the vehicle incase the battery dies rendering the keyless entry useless.

I like the idea of the hidden external jumper points. What did you end up doing for that? Well damn. Someone either tried to break into my car right in front of my house, or they did it when I went one county over to the mall. They messed up my key lock, but I first noticed it when I lifted the handle because the damn thing felt like it was about to fall off. Joke was on them though if they did get in because I do not leave any valuables in the car. My 2012 Charger is an SE. My car doesn’t even have Bluetooth, no fancy speakers or touch screen systems. Nothing. 😂 I bet they were disappointed to find empty laundromat cards, and a bunch of my hospital work shoes.

the trunk access button is still disabled. With some simple hardware from home depot you can lock the back seats from folding down too. If you must leave valuables in the car, leave them in the trunk.

I have a 07 charger and my car was broken into twice once September 07 at galleria Houston and February 08 at my parents house in houston both times they went in thru the handle with a screwdriver. I only know because they scratched up my paint under the handle. If you lock your lockbox they will break the hook with a crowbar very little effort. And just the lockbox is $500 plus labor. So it is better not to lock it. If they have already broke in to your car and broke the lockbox tell the dealer it broke when you closed it and it will be fixed for free with a free rental if you still under your 36,000 mile warranty. But I'm trading my car in because these two times I know about people probably been in my car more but I normally don't leave anything for them to take just these two times they caught me slipping.

I don't know that they knew wtf they were doing b/c they jacked the key hole up and part of the metal in the door. I'm not sure if they even got inside of it.
