I follow a lot of Turo renters and they steer clear of muscle cars, especially a charger. The renters just don’t care. +100 mph speeding, donuts, burnouts, etc. Since it’s hard to control, they always get into accidents, totaled, blown engine. The mom/girlfriend rents to her son/boyfriemd.That being said, the key is location. Depending on your marketed area, it may be fine for years. Hope it goes well!

I owned a hellcat and your tires and brakes numbers are WAY off. I owned the car and didnt beat on it, drove it on weekends and went through 2 sets of tires a year. The brakes cost 4k to do every 10k miles. I had 2-3 O CRAP moments in the car, and I knew it like the back of my hand. If you plan on collecting ins on it you have the right car. I may consider a scat pack for turo but the cat aint gonna make it at what you are charging IMO

I suggest dramatically increasing your tire allowance. Unlikely you will get a year out of the tires on a 700HP RWD rental car. Would also suggest measuring tread pre and post rental and have terms to recover the cost of excessive tire consumption if the renter does burnouts. Probably good to keep a pair of tires on hand too, so if one renter does take the rears past minimum you aren't waiting on delivery before your next rental.

I like turo..or I used to. After a couple issues I've had and the prices now.. I'm good. Anymore, the prices are outrageous unless you want a very basic (mostly well used) vehicle and then the prices are only barely 'okay'. But, for the same price as you're getting a 2015 mitsubishi mirage with 100k miles on it, you can go to enterprise and get something much nicer, and much much newer for the same price. Anything decent is easily $150+/day after fees and such - not even close to being worth it at that price. Granted, I have only ever used turo for fun stuff, such as this, and performance teslas, etc. Speaking of which, back in 2018 I rented a 2016 hellcat charger that only had 5k miles on it and included the red key, 200 miles a day, for less than $100/day after all fees and insurance. Granted, I had to drive about 170 miles from my location to pick it up so I kept it for 3 days and most of the miles were put on just getting it and returning it but it was still fun to drive it those miles too. At that price, it was easily worth it. At the prices today.. not so much. Btw, I've had 10 turo rentals between 2018 and 2021. Only fun stuff like this (mostly teslas) - had two issues which is another negative with turo. Both of them were separate performance model s. The first one was all in person. He took pictures beforehand of the car, I took pictures at the time of picking it up. When I returned it, I took pictures which did not show any damage (none happened while I had the car), he did not take any pictures at that time and got in the car and immediately drove off. Something like 10 hours later and obviously a completely different location he finally uploaded pictures showing damage to the car and he blamed this on me. Turo unfortunately took his side, even with me telling them "look at my photos - no damage. Look at the time and locations .. he drove the car for over 20 miles and it was a completely different location and many hours later that he uploaded photos". They tried to claim that there were not any good pictures of the damaged area (inside wheel well) on my photos, so they could not tell by my photos if there was damage or not but by his photos there clearly was. That was a load of bullshit but whatever.. cost me almost $500 for damage that I didn't cause. Second issue was another model s, and I actually had two issues with this one with the first issue being 'minor'. The car was a couple hundred miles from my location and when I had rented it I confirmed that I would be able to leave my car there and I was told "yes, of course!". I get there and the owner is not there, he gives you app access shortly before the rental and you're all on your own. However, it's a very small parking place with signs up saying 'residents only - all others towed after x amount of time [time being something like 30 minutes])'. So, I send him a message and his reply is "Go inside and find the desk with the person who works there, give them your key and tell them you need a parking pass." Yeah, had I known I'd have to leave my key with some random person I wouldn't have gone through with the rental, but I had plans for this rental so I did it. The employee was super duper confused and ended up calling the resident and telling them that the parking pass was only good for 12 hours. Ended up, I had to get the parking pass (which cost me like $10)..resident ended up moving my vehicle inside the parking garage, so not only did I have to leave my key but they drove it. As far as I can tell, they only moved it inside the garage and didn't drive it any further or anything - but there was nothing stopping them from doing whatever they wanted with it. Now, to the super major issue I had with this rental. I got in the car and everything seemed fine, however, there was an air freshener clipped to the visor right above the driver seat. I didn't mind but this will make more sense later. Rental went great, I put almost 2k miles on the car over the next couple days (unlimited miles allowed). I return the car and again, the owner is no where in sight but they have my car back outside waiting for me. I take many pictures again, everything is great. A couple hours later I get a picture of something that I can't even tell what it is supposed to be and a message "WTF happened to my car!?" to which I reply "what exactly do you mean..?" to which they send another picture and state "You spilled something under the driver's floor mat, car smells like rotten death and will have to be professionally clean and I'm sure it'll be out of service for a while". Yeah, uhm.. it was 100% fine when I dropped it off. I have pictures of the driver's area, but of course I didn't take pictures underneath the driver's floor mat..like who does that? I reply with something along the lines of "Not sure, it was fine when I dropped it off. I didn't drink or eat in the car and definitely didn't spill anything" Then, I don't hear anything for like two days, so I leave my review stating what I just stated here (about having to leave my car key and my car being moved, and then being accused of spilling something in the car under the floor mat). He then replies with something along the lines of "this is our bad about the spill. I now know it was a previous renter who did it, my wife did not inform me and did not have time to clean it between rentals, and I was out of town between the previous rental and this one". Other than that, no apology or anything. EVEN after admitting that he wrongfully accused me of this, he was able to get the review removed and still has his 5 star rating. So, obviously there are bad renter, but there are bad host too who find loopholes and exploit them - aka blaming stuff on renters that they know a renter wouldn't have thought about taking a picture of, etc. Also, like you said about not even getting that scratch fixed and taking the money and running - that's not cool in my book. If I rent a nice car I expect it to look nice. You got the money to fix it. To each their own I guess, though.

Tires and Breaks ONCE A YEAR????? What??
@whoim35532 ай бұрын
just got a kia rio 2016 for 9k... But the insurance kinda crazy since I got my licences for 3 month...
@whoim35532 ай бұрын
just wonder if it is normal to cost $180 per month for an old Toyota that is worth 4.5k and $220 per month for a Kia that worth 9k... I asked for a lot quotes and stuff and that's the cheapest... while I never got tickets or accident...

No - get ABI period X insurance like I mentioned in the video. It will be $89 a month

lol 1600 for brakes and tires on a hellcat.. brakes alone will run you 1600 unless u cheap out which assuming the way people will drive u shouldnt cheap out on the thing that stops the car

It’s done in house. I don’t go and pay top dollar bud

So are we just gonna ignore the fact he complained about the damage on the front of the car then gets 750 for it then says he won’t do anything cuz it’s not that noticeable like Shii I I was that dude I would’ve not gave the 750
@AlexprofitsАй бұрын
You sounds dumb. If he damages it - he pays. Doesn’t matter if I fix it😂😂 it’s in the contract

That rental hellcat is gonna need way more than 4 tires a year! my buddy goes through 4 sets of tires a month but he does burnouts 10 minutes at a time multiple times per day 🤣🤣
@AlexprofitsАй бұрын
4 sets naturally that I’ll be responsible for. If they eat them on while on a rental - they pay
@exaltedgordoАй бұрын
horrible idea, be totaled or impounded before you ever got close to paying it off.
