Southport - the "posher" holiday resort in the 1950s when I was on holiday as a small boy with my parents. I could not imagine any trace of violence in those far off days. Three of the most prestigious hotels in Southport, The Prince of Wales, The Royal Clifton, and The Scarisbrick are now doss houses filled with migrants. It has turned Southport into a dump. I used to go into Southport most weekend's shopping on Lord Street which was renowned for it's boulevard style, it's said to have influenced Napoleon III when he stayed there in exile. All the shops were full, no vacant lots. Wayfarers Arcade with retailers selling Hugo Boss and Armani. Then onto nightclubs such as the Kingsway, or Palm Court. Loads of bars/restaurants and never too much bother at night. Wayfarers Arcade is empty, no clubs and half of Lord Street empty too. Truly shocking what has happened with the effects of illegal immigration.
