I have just come back from holiday in Spain and I couldn't help but think why do I have to go through the process of passport checks, been body scanned, confirming my identity, then showing paper work again and passports again ect ect, I have to do all this because I'm a British born citizen just coming back home but if I was an illegal person I don't need any checks, paper work, passport ect, I can just come across to Britain illegally. My wife came to uk in 2005 from east european country. I had to provide reams of documents and telephone bills, plane tickets etc as proof we had been seeing each other for ages. I had to pay for visas, she had to take mutliple english exams (although her english was perfect), she took history exams and in the end she had to take an oath to be british in front of a high ranking lord and a picture of the queen. She now earns well, pays lots in taxes and serves the community. Why did we have to do the above, yet the tens of thousands can come on boats and get handouts?? Its another example of 2 tier law.
