1 thing about Freeman is crystal clear to me: the best of the best are begging to work for him because they know they’ll be able to do their thing without a HC who’s going to have a pissing contest and make them know HES the boss. Hes humble enough to want to learn every single game on how to be better and a great leader has even stronger guys behind him. Notice how our OC bolted from Brian Kelly? One thing I don't think gets discussed is that although Notre Dame's campus has some really amazing spots some of the main buildings and residences are all the same on the outside in terms of bricking and I don't think they offer a lot of aesthetic beauty or differentiation. It can be a long and dark winter at Notre Dame. You can either own that through lighting and novel architecture or maintain a somewhat dull residence area. Life draws recruits.

Seen enough? No. It's been a nice stretch with good Coordinators and good players but we shouldn't be too quick to forget Marcus' gaffes. Whether it's incorrect number of personnel on the field to lose a game (last year), or some questionable play calling at critical junctures of clock management, Marcus can get a frazzled look in big moments. Kirby Smart and Georgia will be the final test for me. If he wins that game without a significant coaching error on his part, good. But signing him now to an extension, I have to wonder if he's the reason for us being 11-1 this year. He obviously gets some credit, but we've been too quick to ink Head Coaches in the past too.
