They should go for it tbh, if it's 1-2 picks on top at most. Podz, Kuminga, moody for Markannen. You gotta see that Kuminga isn't a Cornerstone. He's an athletic forward, no doubt, but he's probably more in line to become what Markannen currently is. Podz being thrown in hurts a bit more than Kuminga, but at the same time, warriors still have more guard depth than they do at that 4-5 spot. The Big Dilemma is the Curry timeline. Sure the dubs have all these young talented people that we All want to see develop, but it doesn't fit Curry's timeline( which is probably 2 years at most). The warriors owe it to Steph to do everything they can to put the warriors in the best possible position to play Win-Now basketball. And if they feel they don't owe it to Steph, and want to develop all their young guys, then they honestly should let him go contend for another chip, while he still can.

We don't know what Wiggins we are getting this season... And Kuminga hasn't shown that he's a consistent spot up shooter, especially from 3. It's clunky. Not enough shooting. Whereas, if it's Steph, Melton, Wiggins( or in a perfect world, Kuminga), Draymond And Markannen... That's a ton of shooting. That's a lot of threats from multiple ranges.

It's too early to say for kuminga. Most players with freakish athleticism never develop past their god given gifts. The second he gets injured or loses a step and plateaus his development, the warriors future is a loss. Stock is super high.

The lineup would look like this: Steph at the 1, Melton at the 2, Wiggins at the 3, Draymond at the 4 and Markannen at the 5. During rotations/resting, Markannen can play the 4, bring in Looney/TJD at the 5. Kyle Anderson plays the 3. Buddy plays the 2, and for Non Steph minutes, they can bring in Waters. They can also sign Plowdin from summer league, if they feel they need another forward on the roster.

Been telling Warriors fans to give up on the Markannen trade.. and I wasnt trying to be a jerk about it. I knew this would be somewhere close to Ainge's asking price. I said Kuminga/picks or four unprotected first at the cheapest for the past few weeks but nobody listened and kept throwing their own trade ideas. Personally I'm a fan of what the Warriors have built now. The only ? is the Wiggins situation. Yes they may need a second guy who can score but I still believe they will use their "strength in numbers" motto and win games if the team is unselfish. If they desperately need someone, get them at the trade deadline.

I get them trying to find a similar Bridges deal but Bridges is good for 2+ years. Lauri is good for one. Smart from Ainge though. He’s asking a lot right now because he’s trying to get the upper hand on the trade. Asking a lot starts good considering even if warriors reject this deal which I hope they do. They will add key assets in the trade so win-win for Jazz. For warriors, try to get as low as you can get for Lauri. It looks like this won’t happen though. This will drag out like you said until Lauri makes his mind up and not sign the extension. Nothing will happen.
