From a Jays, Sharks and Giants fan now back in Toronto, I wish Chapman nothing but great luck. He had a frustratingly tough season offensively last season, and hope he can turn things around with the Giants. Not a shock that he wanted to return to the Bay Area. Now lets see how Keiner-Faleffa can do at third with the Jays. I was shocked to learn he won a gold glove with Texas in 2020, especially after an atrocious attempt by the Yankees to make him a SS.

Thank you Brodie for acknowledging the intangibles that Chapman brings. I am a Giants fan in Toronto area and have watched Chappy frequently the last few years. He is the best inflieler in baseball - fulll stop - and will automatically make Luciano a better shortstop. He is an infield anchor. HIs bat will always be streaky and even on a poor hitting team if he he hits it will be a bonus. Giants needed a pro on defence and they got one of the best. They are a better team today than yesterday.

I really like the Giants lineup after this move. I’m excited for the year and would absolutely love to see this squad win the season series against the Dodgers. They’ve been yapping too much in SoCal this spring.

As a GIants fan born and raised in LA who has witnessed years and years of Dodgers fan's pain inflicted by that organization, LA isnt going to win anything this year. I dont care if they go 162-0. They will not win the World Series this year. Not because they havent won a WS in the same year they won over 100 games, no no. And definitely not because they never won a WS in seasons where they drew over 3mil at Dodger Stadium (35 such seasons, 0WS to show for btw), nope! It's because they decided on going to Korea with the Padres to get their season started sooner. In other words, they're the first ones in & ppl expect them to be the last ones standing in Oct. Fine n' dandy, except that no team has ever done that! Plus, the last time LA tried this was 2014. They started in Australia and their season ended in St. Louis in Oct. Cards had answers for Kershaw, but not for Ishikawa

@@michaelbarr77 so your dumb, we have surplus of upcoming pitchers with Logan Webb, Jordan hicks, and Kyle Harrison, we also have black, Winn, whisenhun, and others. With Alex Cobb and Robbie ray on their way at the all star break, we would have so many starters we would have to have a six man rotation if we signed snell or monty so why have a surplus in something we thrive in, I think a first baseman or second baseman would be the smartest move

The doubles were due to a "hitting philosophy" in Toronto where quite a few players were encouraged to go the other way, probably more than they should have. If anything, Chapman should be encouraged to pull the ball more than he has been, particularly with the SF park dimensions. If he can do that and catch up to fastballs the way he couldn't here, he's going to get PAID next year. He'll opt out and San Fran can't attach a QO to him. He'll be the Giants' version of Marcus Semien in Toronto: one year, prove it, get signed to a long-term deal in the following offseason. I hope he does it.

After 2018 once the Sharks got EK65, I stopped buying into the hype because I am tired of getting hurt. Even when San Jose was going on a tear in that season, I didn't care about what was accomplished in the regular season. I wanted to know if we are the same old Sharks or if we have changed. Same thing with the 49ers since the start of this decade and the Giants in 2021. All I want to know is if we are going to be a contender or a sheep in wolves clothing. Period.
