I wonder if they regret spending $120M on building a new music center back in 2010 that in no way benefited the student body.

Re: The Rangers, the problem was that retractable roofs were prohibitively expensive when it was built (SkyDome was almost 400 mil. USD in 1989 and still didn't fully retract), and having been there for a game in late July, it was unbearable for more than 15 minutes at a time. It was so bard that they were the only team allowed to play a Sunday evening game opposite Sunday Night Baseball. On top of naked greed and desire for all the modern bells and whistles, there were also player safety concerns.

Doesn’t make sense why they aren’t building affordable housing, or just large amounts of housing in general. The cost of rent has been skyrocketing in nyc and people need a place to live, nycfc is building a stadium AND housing right next to citi field, so why can’t the Mets?

Feels like diamondbacks ownership paid off this election so they can get politicians who want to work with them. Now it seems like all the politicians are willing to cooperate with diamondbacks ownership to find a solution to help fund the renovations to the stadium.

My vote is Outlaws if the logo looks something like what you showed with black and light blue color scheme. The gold with teal is ugly. Mammoth isn't bad either with the colors you showed. Hockey Club is definitely out.

Although the tax revenues noted would be diverted from other areas to ballpark maintenance, none of those tax-based revenue streams would even exist without the D-Back's. If they left, all of those tax dollars would evaporate. It's also important to note that the county owns the stadium, and the Diamondbacks are just tenants. If you leased an apartment where the roof leaked and the HVAC system didn't work, you would expect the landlord to make repairs, or you'd move out. Finally, for those citizens who always say "no", consider that it would cost far more to demolish the stadium than to renovate it--should the team leave. Chase Field and the D-Backs are community assets and should be treated as such. We already lost our NHL team in Phoenix and can't afford to lose our MLB team, which was born in AZ.

I’m really disappointed that it won’t the Utah Yetis. I’m hoping Mammoths will be the team’s official name because I’m not open to it being called HC or Outlaws. HC is just a lamé name that feels more like a soccer team. While Outlaws is definitely better than HC, but feel like that name would be better for another city like Houston. Plus Outlaws does not really represent a winter climate I was hoping for Utah’s NHL team.

If there is one team in central and northern Florida, then Orlando makes the best sense to me. This would enable the team to also more easily attract fans from northeastern Florida including the Jacksonville and Daytona Beach areas, as well as the greater Tampa Bay area. I disagree with Brodie that teams should never move. Team relocations are sometimes advisable and may be necessary due to changes in demographics and population trends. The geographic distribution of teams in MLB is particularly behind the current distribution of where people live in the USA. The total population of the South in 2025, not even including Florida and Texas, is more than the total population of the Midwest, yet 11 states of the South have only one team while Midwestern states have nine teams. The Milwaukee Brewers fan base is confined to the state of Wisconsin, which has a 2025 population of approximately 6 million. Milwaukee is about a two-hour drive from an even bigger city with two teams, and its two large bordering states, Minnesota and Michigan, have teams of their own. In contrast, the combined population of North and South Carolina is approximately 16.5, and both states are growing at far faster rates than Wisconsin. That is a higher population than California in the late 1950’s when the Dodgers and Giants moved to LA and SF, respectively. Yet NC and SC don’t have a single MLB team. The Carolinas could add two teams (in Charlotte and Raleigh-Durham) and both would have bigger potential fan bases than the Brewers in Wisconsin.

Excellent video Brodie. Sadly it depicts a pretty depressing situation for the A's in Sacramento. I was looking forward to going to a couple of games in 2025 but based on your information ticket prices will be way to high for all games. Regarding your stating that 2026 prediction that they'll either flirt with the playoffs or be breaking up, based on their history and their financial outlook and how their current payroll is way below even the 15th highest spending team, break up is the likeliest outcome. Based on the first part of your video I had some hope they might stay in Sac but after watching this I think that will be very unlikely. I think the only hope for them staying in Sac would be for the team to be sold to the guy who also owns the Kings.

A lot of families (from other areas that have MLB) would consider planning their Florida vacation during the days their home team is playing in Orlando. Especially with a stadium right there near the attractions. The Rays already draw a lot of visiting team's fans. It would be even more so with a stadium near Sea World.

Why would they put a park next to a park? Flushing Meadow is walking distance from Citi Field. The USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center is inbetween the ballpark and Flushing Meadow. Where the heck is everyone going to park especially when the US Open is there in September. There are always days when there is a ball game and tennis going on at the same time. They are also building a Soccer stadium. I bet there will be a time when all three are going on at same time. Does not make sense.

The AC, in Chase Field, in Arizona, doesn't work. The retractable roof, in Chase Field, in Arizona, doesn't work. The concrete is unstable and breaking off, in Chase Field, in Arizona, doesn't work. And the infrastructure, after 30 years, in Chase Field, in Arizona, doesn't work. Sounds to me like perhaps they should call it a wrap and build a new ballpark, because, Chase Field, in Arizona, doesn't work.
@ki272618 сағат бұрын
Apparently they’ve already fixed the retractable roof and should work this upcoming season but diamondbacks don’t want to build a new ballpark that would cost significantly more money.

It makes the most sense for the Rays to move to Orlando instead of places like Nashville. You're already the most unpopular team in the league. At the very least, you'll still have support from Tampa. Which isn't saying much, but it's still better than going to an even smaller market like Nashville and starting over

Brodie you are off base on the team name. Yeti was popular with the kids but they (and you) are unaware Yeti was the original mascot of the Colorado Avalanche, selecting the Avs discarded mascot was cringe worthy to any long time hockey fans. Yeti name comes from Himalayan folklore with nothing to tie it to our part of the country. I’m grateful Yeti Coolers were not cooperative. There are minor league and college teams using Mammoth and Outlaws, that’s true with just about name we pick.. We had Mammoth in Utah for many years until they went extinct,, probably because they were our prehistoric ancestors favorite food. Slow lumbering wooly elephants were easy to catch and kill…. Utah has a rich heritage of Outlaws. Butch Cassidy was born in Beaver Utah and his Hole-in-the-Wall gang had many hideouts in Utah including Robbers Roost. The gang was known for careful planning to minimize violence and they had horses staged along their escape route to outrun lawmen. If Outlaws is selected, fans could wear bandanas which they pull up over their nose when Utah scores a goal, during a power play or shootout at the end of a tie game. It is an exciting and unique form of fan participation and the players will be motivated when they see hundreds of fans wearing Outlaw bandannas. It is a new name to pro hockey with a strong link to the Utah community, with a fun way for fans to participate wearing Outlaws bandanas.
