I was once a DL passholder for many years, until 2023. It's just so unfortunate that Disney has increased the pricing so dramatically, that I can no longer justify the expense for my budget. At the time, it wasn't even about the annual increases, but it was about no longer making available a pass with no block out dates. When they took that away, and increased the price of a pass, that no longer made financial sense to me. I'm a new grandpa of a grandson that will be turning 2 years old in December and when he's old enough to appreciate Disneyland, I'm afraid I won't be able to afford to take him there for the first time ☹. Wow. Just wow. We had already gone to one park per day due to the expense of a park hopper. We also went down from 4 days to 3 due to the high price of tickets. We had kept the LL expense, just because of the shorter time in the park. Disney is always such as treat, but wow. compared to other travel, I just don't know.

How is the Disney world annual pass cheaper than the Disneyland one… they have more parks and even at this point don’t require reservations
@suziemyers98553 ай бұрын
Done and done. Four day, one park/day with LL. When am I going? When I can find a reasonable hotel. THANK YOU!

I tried so hard to get my husband to during the most recent lower price time. I have never gone for three days, but was going to. I told him I would pay for everything, and I bought everything to put together three outfits for Disney bounding. I thought he was on board, and we discussed his clothes as well. Then he conveniently ignored it and we didn’t go. I am retired, on a fixed income, and now with Medicare, which is very expensive, I don’t see any way I will ever be able to go again. This makes me so sad. I would go by myself, but I am pretty physically handicapped and can only go in a wheelchair.

Let’s address the elephant in the room. Disney is a corporation supplying an exclusive product to those who cannot survive without their product. Their mindset is to make as much profit as possible with no regard to the welfare of their customers. But now for the elephant: Disneyland is now unionized. They must bargain with union representatives, who are just as greedy as the corporation with out regard to the customers, and pay higher wages and benefits. So guess who pays for this? Very noble of you Chris to try to help people get them lowest price they can for now. But it’s a losing battle. The Mouse is too big and so is the elephant. I was an annual pass holder since way back when an annual pass with zero restrictions and parking included was less than $300. I stopped when it reached around $700 and no parking. Raised our kids there and have been going for over 55 years. Haven’t gone for over two years now. Sad chapter. I’ll just live vicariously through you Chris and my memories.

I really wish I would have waited to buy my kids tickets! We are going February 18-22nd and already bought our 5 tickets for a three day single park per day pass for 5 of us including a 7 and 9 year old and it cost us $1900. Crazy!! This deal would have saved me some money!! Thanks for sharing as always I love watching you guys!!

Staff wanted increases in pay so that has to come from somewhere. It will not be taken from shareholder dividends as this will negatively impact the price of shares, which will be a target for senior execs at Disney. Whilst it maybe unpopular people cannot expect increases in park running costs not to be passed on to consumers. There’s also the new hotel to pay for as DVC and room sales have been slower than expected.
@Failure2send3 ай бұрын
Exactly this. Disney isn't going to fully pay for CM wage increases, that cost is getting offloaded to the consumer.
@KhurtKhave6693 ай бұрын
And there hasn't been any significant shareholder dividends since before 2020. Disney has been so mismanaged and losing money in films and streaming that the entire company is now in danger; yet they keep doing the same foolish things.

@@KhurtKhave669 yes Disney stock was about $200 a share like two or three years ago, now it’s $96. The shareholders are getting killed.

I've been going to Disneyland since I was 9 years old (I'm 64 now) and was planning on taking my grand-kids there when they get a little older but now I'm having 2nd thoughts as the price is just too much. It used to be that you could afford to go every year but now it's so expensive that it's becoming something you have to save up a lifetime for. I feel sorry for the younger generation that can no longer afford to go.
@ronnyjohnston60393 ай бұрын
We used to go once a year or every other year. Havent been since 2020. (We got our trip in before lockdown) Dont forsee going anytime soon, inflation has made it too hard to save for vacations. And if we did manage, we would no longer park hop.

@Cymorill83 ай бұрын
But it depends on WHEN you go. A one day park hopper is as low as $169 in February or as high as $281 in December as of today. The price difference based on demand for the same tickets is unreal.

VOTE with your pocketbook folks! If you keep paying the higher prices, Disney will keep increasing them!

I used to love going to Disneyland. Went when I wanted to. No planning. No budgeting. Just went. Had fun. Got on all the rides I wanted to. There were no cell phones. No fast passes. Now, Disneyland is no longer any fun. So sad to see all the greed.
@douglaswild38523 ай бұрын
They have just COMPLETELY priced us out of going!! It’s just heartbreaking. We LOVE Disneyland and use to go twice a year, EVERY YEAR and stay for three or four days with hopper passes for both parks. But since they have increased the prices so radically on EVERYTHING from you passes, food, and hotels, PLUS the charges PER PERSON for Genie Plus, after hour parties ect. We haven’t gone ONCE in four years. We sincerely love Disneyland but just CAN NOT justify spending THOUSANDS for only a few days. You could literally fly somewhere or take a cruise for less money. Very sad. They’ve priced out the very people who made them successful. We miss the Disney magic and Walt would hate this.😕
@sticky30383 ай бұрын
They have priced the Magic right out of the parks as well so you’re not missing much. The very essence of what made Disneyland special is gone. Noticed that years ago
@gbcocean19553 ай бұрын
agreed! since 2022 we have stopped going and for the prices it costs for 6 days at DLA we can spend 3+ weeks on vacation in Oregon Coast. Loved Disneyland but will not bankrupt myself to go anymore-but Disney knows their addicts will pay whatever is posted.

Oh, Jiminy Cricket!😕 With another price hike we will continue to visit the park much less. We have had to downsize from an annual pass to a one day one park visit. One Disneyland visit per year. I have a question about the 2 to 5 day tickets. Do we still have to visit the park between a specific period of time? How I wish I could spread out those muti day tickets with more time in between. Chris thank you for your series on the Florida Disney world hotels. After comparing pricing with Disneyland annual passes vs making a trip to Florida (We live 9 miles from Disneyland) after your videos we decided to travel to Florida and visit Disneyworld for the first time. With that much said. It was cheaper for us to fly ✈️ to Florida, book a disney hotel, and visit the Disneyworld for a few days vs getting the annual passes for Disneyland. love your content!
