I think a much better idea to HONOR the original snow white movie is to REDRAW it for it's 100th Anniversary, and used the most modern HAND DRAWN art style and literally REDRAW the movie. Not to replace it, but to honor how a hand drawn animated film (the very first of it's kind) made Disney possible.

I will not be seeing Snow White either. Zegler’s lack of repercussions is alarming considering Gina Carano was fired so abruptly for far far less. I think that this movie will truly be one of Disney’s greatest failures.

Jon Favreaux’s Jungle Book is still the one and only good live action remake. I adore classic Disney and have zero desire to watch this, especially with a Snow White who hates Snow White. I agree they should probably just drop it and take the loss.

I was excited to see this movie until Rachel's Negative Comments about it. She really needed some PR training especially if Disney was going with her from the very beginning. I'll see it once in the movie theater. But, it will be straight to Disney+ before I watch it again. They really should have done it like Tom Hanks's Pinocchio movie.

I'm not going to see this film. I'm sorry, but Rachel Z's attitude has totally put me off from ever seeing it. Which is a shame as I saw Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and I thought she was really good. Just NOPE! These actresses, and there are several who I won't name, who shoot their mouths off, need to learn to keep quiet and how to keep their mouths shut unless they have something nice to say. 😔 That said, I want to wish you Chris, Amanda, and Miles, as well as your family and loved ones, a Happy Turkey Day! 🦃 And if I'm going to see any Disney movie it'll probably Moana 2. 🙂

Rachel Zegler is 110% a star power. She was the lead in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story, the lead in the Hunger Games prequel movie, and is playing the lead in a play on Broadway as we speak. Not to mention everything else she has lined up. The Pinocchio movie failed because Tom Hanks phoned it in, and Robert Zemeckis doesn’t know how to make a good film with today’s tech. The people here in the comments that are so against her should know that people like Tom Hanks and nearly every other current Disney star share the same political beliefs as her. And most of the film industry.

... Look, I can have Snow White become a leader. That's fine. Snow White isn't about love. There is a guy in it. There is a little bit of "Someone's got the hots for you" going on, but Snow, as a character, doesn't care about that. You wanna know who cares about that? The QUEEN. The QUEEN is a little heart of jealousy that can't stand that other people can be loved. The whole point of the story is that the Queen is Vain and does everything she can to assure that she is the only one worthy of love, to the point where she destroys herself in her own insecurities by the end. You can have Snow be as heroic as you want to be. Modern interpitations since Once Upon a Time, and Snow White and the Huntsmen pretty much *do* the Snow is Heroic angle. You can have Snow be a hero. That's not a problem. it's only when you don't understand the Queen's role, that it falls apart. I don't know what the audience is seeing, but as long as the writers understand the queen, I would hope it all works out.

I generally don’t bother with live action remakes- I’ve seen Maleficent and Alice in Wonderland which I enjoyed but have little to no interest for any of the others. Definitely won’t see Snow White. Maybe Lilo and Stitch but not sure - I love the original very much.

No one sets out to make a bad movie. There's not one single movie ever made that didn't begin with high hopes. But sometimes, despite the involvement of top talent and good intentions... it just doesn't work. When Disney did the math and determined that a live-action 'Snow White' would be a good bet, they went out and assembled top talent. But again, movies aren't widget-making. You jump, in you make decisions, and you hope for the best. The gamble as old as time appears to have not paid off in this case. And, of course, with so much money involved, it's very easy to be cynical. But it's important to remember that even movies that we consider classics today, such as the animated 'Little Mermaid', might have turned out to stink up the joint. As an industry professional, I can tell you: You Just Don't Know. Rachel's PR troubles aside, the stars didn't align for this one. They appear to have not found the way in. But that's no reason to be cynical about it. The next time Disney does a live action remake and it's amazing, people will talk about the timeless genius of Disney. Movies are hard. Even for the world's best moviemakers. There are Speilberg films that don't work. Scorsese has films that are cringy. It happens.

The thing about this film is that it doesn’t need to be good and it can be controversial and it doesn’t matter if it gets much of an audience. It is 100% about “evergreening” the artistic visuals to keep Snow White out of Public Domain as the copyright expires in 2032. That is 8 years away! I don’t think it matters how much it is going to cost. But it does need to be released.

First: great journalism Chris. You are a much better reporter than a lot of talking heads that one can see in news channels. Second: (as a Disney's big fan), it is a big opportunity to get rid of all producers, writers, directors, etc. that , being protected by their own wooke bubble, has produced really bad films such as Lighyear, Jungle Cruise, that one about an all inclusive group that nobody watched, etc. I am not planning to see "live" Snowwhite

Chris you didn't mention Ziegler's Free Palestine comment. People can have their opinions on the topic but Ziegler saying it was a direct diss to her co-star Gal Godot. From what I understand Godot was special forces in the Israeli military. Not a team player that Rachel.

Disney needs to get back to the animation renaissance that started with that started with Little Mermaid. That stretch of movies was epic. Now, it’s remake hell which is damaging the value of the old IP. They also need to get their stars to agree to not effectively sabotage themselves. Disney should be a politics-free zone; that’s why I’m here.

I’m a Disnerd but I have been largely disappointed by the remakes. Zegler’s poor views on the classics didn’t help. I am boycotting Disney’s Snow White live action. I’d much rather see Daily Wire version. Disney, the original is much like a paper clip; it works today and a redesign isn’t necessary.
