During his presidency I defended him when he was attacked by greedy detractors. I always greatly admired him and Roslyn for living their faith. I am greatly saddened they are gone, but are together reaping their rewards. So many people are better off because of them. We won't see anyone else like them again.

My mother met him before she actually was a mother because neither my sister nor I had been born yet. It really was his time to die because now he’s in a better place where he can stay with his wife Rosalynn and away from idiots whom continue to ruin America! He absolutely would not have been able to put up with Donald Trump! I’ll try not to talk on Inauguration Day partly for Jimmy’s sake!

I was just in Atlanta for a few days and had a chance to go to President Carter's Library and Center. Moving experience. I have such huge admiration for that truly great man. And in a way I'm happy he won't live to see the presidency disgraced again by Trump who isn't 1/20th the man that Carter was. Makes me sad to see what's happened to the country but glad that at one time we actually had deeply good people leading us rather than narcissists and liars.

One of the greatest human beings to ever grace this planet… Peacemaker. Civil rights leader. Conservationist. Philanthropist. Nobel laureate. A man of deep faith and conviction. Naval Academy graduate and nuclear submarine officer. Often the smartest man in any room. A true renaissance man - ahead of his time on so many issues. I am heartbroken, but in awe of his legacy and inspired by his humanitarianism. He followed Jesus’ teachings in every way and never allowed politics to change who he was. He served his country (and the world) well… 🙏🏼😢 He was my hero.

Carter was a very, very weak president. His passing does not change this fact. Nice guy? Sure. But I felt like he did not lift us up. He was a full blooded liberal and that is bad for America. He surrendered the Panama Canal because he felt we were not a great world leader. But I guess he tried. May he rest in peace.

Carter's use of the term "apartheid" to describe Israel's policies was met with significant controversy and criticism from some quarters, including from some Jewish groups and Israeli officials. However, Carter has maintained that his use of the term is intended to highlight the injustices and human rights abuses faced by Palestinians under Israeli occupation, rather than to make a direct comparison with the South African apartheid regime.

Hail and Farewell to one of the 39th President of these United States. I remember feeling the pride of my country where a modest peanut farmer and his school teacher spouse could make it to the White House. Back in the days when honor and pride still mattered. I remember the good natured jokes about his brother Billy and his Billy Beer. The rumor that Roslyn was making her own dress for the inauguration. Mind you much was criticized but I was a teenager, so I never drank Billy Beer or know if Roslyn Carter actually sewed a dress. What I do know is I am proud to have lived during this moment in history. I know he was a hard working and honorable man who exuded compassion. Well known for his work with charities. President Jimmy Carter is the definition of a humanitarian. Thank you sir for your service, your kindness and respect for others. During sad moments like this I remember the lesson that physics teaches us. Energy cannot be created or destroyed but can only change form. My poet’s interpretation is that energy, such as President Carter’s spirit/soul, remains intact and surrounds everyone he touched.❤️

The USA desperately needs a good-hearted, upstanding man of the intellectual caliber and moral fiber of President Carter to lead the nation, but do such people still exist? What a terrible tragedy that his vision and work for peace in the Levant was torpedoed by lesser men of cynical intent. President Carter, you smiled on the world like a benevolent, loving father, and you will always be remembered with fondness, respect and admiration for your warm-hearted righteousness and generosity of spirit.

people think that god gave him a long life because he was pleased with him. not so. he gave him a long life to let him have a chance to repent. he chose not to repent. now he is in everlasting punishment. also.. god gave him a long life because god can do whatever he wants.. and if people are deceived by that and think he was some kind of a real christian.. and god blessed him because he really followed jesus.. then they are deceived. it is obvious that he was not a true christian.
