depending on income levels people have different IDs. in the past public officials have tried to pick and choose which ids are vaild for voting. lets say this passes the save act okay cool. 5 years later the now require a citizen's id or a specific voting id that can only be obtained by taking a day off work and getting it like a drivers liscense. this can be used to as a tool to suppress voters rights by putting your vote behind a paywall so to speak. it can be seen as an attempt to create a pay to play system for voting (which i am against). it is already illegal for non citizens to vote this just puts up additional barriers to participate in our democracy. the founding fathers did warn about this by the way and goes against the spirit of the constitution.

the us is one of 5 developed countries (australia, saudi arabia, oman, us, malaysia) without voter id and citizenship requirements to vote in national elections. most of those same countries bar non-citizens from voting in even local elections as well. when even guatemala and honduras (the countries that coined the term banana republic) also have voter id laws, and there's people here in the us like 'it's bad, because reasons!' there's something seriously wrong, and maybe we really should be implementing those laws. half the world and the overwhelming majority of the developed world has them. including _all of europe_. but its somehow bad and racist and whatever other drivel? yeah, no.

When you register to vote at the appropriate place (City Hall in my case) you should be asked to show proof of Citizenship - US Birth Certificate or Naturalization Certificate. When people go for a driving licence they should not be allowed to sign up for voting - as illegals are doing. Obama years ago told illegal 'Dreamers' to go and vote.

I remember learning that my fore parents were denied the right to vote in this country. This country received free labor for centuries from my people….but we had no rights. Went to this country’s wars……no rights and we’re still looked at as less than. We have contributed in many ways to this country including inventions that were stolen. As should be, the proof of America citizenship with approved valid ID’s when applying for a voter registration which then assigns a particular voting District locations where all the appropriate “down ballot”candidates are also listed. This confirms that each ballot is consistent with the operation of the ballot counting machines? Mail in ballots are matched to the District they are sent to? With a total of returned ballots, any extra ballots that are counted beyond those sent out are easy to discover?
