In just last 1-2 years pak bought VT 4 tanks , Winglong , CH 4 and Baraktar Tb 2 Attack drones , inducted Shapur drone , LY 80 and Hq 9 air defence system,Got 300 + SH 4 truck mounted howitzers , Will get 25 J 10 c and many JF 17 thunders , Type 054 ship are inducted. Negotiations going for Z 10 Attack hellicopters and Turkish Anca drones . Pakistani will say we are doing for defence. But let I day , I am observer and defense enthusiast and follower defence news. I have never seen such a madness of acquiring weapons . Why I am saying it's not for Defence - Reason is india don't have attack drones till now. In SPG and AWACS Pakistan is now ahead .So , basicaly pakistan is going ahead , something more than just a detteerance against India . There are chances that these weapons might be on line of credit or loan from China as pak economy is not in good shape . Over dependence on one country is not good.

In my opinion, Pakistan could have moved away from the Chinese in this acquisition. The Serbian and South African guns have much greater range. I believe guns with a range of 45km or so can be developed locally. But the Army knows their requirements, they would have acquired as per their requirements
