The Supreme Court said Monday former President Donald Trump has immunity from federal prosecution for official actions he took while in office. There is no immunity for unofficial acts. The court split 6-3 in the decision.

It wasn't along Party Lines. Rather a group of Justices who know the Constitution and a group who does not. The fact is the Lower Court and Prosecutor did not present any evidence that the former President was resposible for the Jan. 6th Insurrection and that is why it has been delegated back to the lower court. There is no where else to go with this bogus case and charge. Fact is the former President asked Nancy Pelosi and the Mayor of D.C. to send National Guard and they refused. The fact is the Former President is not responsible for a small group of people taking the law into their own hands. And recently the court ruled that some of these people were not gulity.

Context, context, context, the ruling was exactly how I thought it would be and I am not a lawyer. The media and the legal community failed to crystalize the issue for the American public. The Justices allowed two separate issues of absolute immunity to be argued on one set of facts. The only question that should have been asked and discussed was, whether a President has absolute immunity from crimes that he, or she, committed while in office. According to the ruling, a President does not have absolute immunity from crimes, he commits, while in office.

Jan 6 not an official act, but Trump's conversations/order with Justice Dept and Pence are considered "official acts." Much of the prosecution's case is based on those conversations. Before everyone loses their minds about this ruling, take a look at case law from lower courts across the country on the topic of immunity for other public officials (such as prosecutors, for example). The Supreme Court’s ruling here is consistent with the law in this area. There is nothing surprising about this ruling when you put it in the context of how many other courts have ruled on similar issues. The reason this ruling is getting so much attention is simply because of the controversy surrounding Trump. But from a legal perspective, the ruling is nothing unusual or shocking.

U.S. democracy has been under attack for quite some time. People will realize too late what they have created and done to their children and their children’s children. Remember that the 5 or 6 justices appointed by Trump at the Supreme Court during his term would put in question the adherence to Democracy or loyalty to appointee by the newly appointed . I’m not sure how they can say the president is not above the law BUT he can get away with doing this, this this and this, because he was still president, does that not contradict the statement that he is not above the law. Should the president not be held to a higher standard and ethical behavior? In that case anyone can be President and do such deeds because the are immune from some things. Therefore, premeditated a president can pre plan certain things that is beneficial to them and them alone that could also have long term negative consequences to the people they serve and get away with it. The bible did warn about this which state in the last day, one coming will be worst than the last meaning. This would be the cause of changes in the law which have no regard to value which close the gates to ethics.

What I find extremely concerning about this decision, besides the fact that the president gets special immunity, is that even a private conversation of a defendant with their attorney is no longer private once the conversation turns to conspiracy to commit a crime. So even if the discussion between Trump and Pence is considered an official act, this ruling would allow discussions to thwart the election process. The party of the 'past' that seeks to follow the intentions of the founders is deliberately eroding the process. The party that prides in arming itself against the government is supporting the government imploding on itself. I often wondered how could Germany and Italy slip into fascism and now the answer is all too clear. Remember, if Trump is re-elected, project 2025 will drive the final nails into the coffin.
