The sanctioning body is bigger than the fighters. The body has communicated the rule to the fighter, and the fighter also knows the rule before ever holding the belt. Just as the body has made the rule know again, a fighter is expected to quickly make an appeal for a possible exemption if the fighter is serious about it . It is stupid for any fighter to sit back on his couch and expect the world to rotate around only him alone. IF YOU WANT EXTENSION, YOU APPLY FOR IT IMMEDIATELY. many of these fighters are not trustworthy. Usyk vs tyson Fury fight was scheduled several times before it ever happened, and the sanctioning body had to wait for them despite the fights not happened until saudi arabia came to the rescue-- that was not fare to other fighters paying sanctioning fees. Now, they have eventually fought after holding on to the belts without the unification for several months. i expect the bodies to collect the belts as soon as possible so other fighters can fight for them or the champion goes immediately to start defending them. It is a belt for all fighter, not to be held captive by just one fighter

I normally agree Kurt but here’s the problem with that logic. By youe logic if the B-side fighter wins he should essentially reset the clock on the mandatory. And the new champion should be entitled to one voluntary. Problem is if the new champion fights a voluntary which in this case would be Tyson Fury since he’s not a mandatory, and by some miracle Fury beats Usyk the second time. Then the clock will reset again as Fury was the B-side fighter. Fury could then go fight Joshua and when Joshua knocks out Fury since he was the B-side fighter his clock would restart again. At one point does Hrgovic get his shot? The reason why I respected Joshua as a champion is he didn’t leave ANY mandatories. He fought all them shits. Timely at that. Usyk should’ve fought Hrgovic after Fury pulled out the first time. Then fought Fury in May as he did and he’d fulfilled all his mandos and he can sit unbothered. He fucked around with Fury and lost a lot of time. Missed the opportunities to make an additional purse as well

I stand by my comment on an earlier video RE how we can keep an undisputed champ; the governing bodies should agree to call their mandatories in order at this point based on age. Based on that we'd have Usyk face the mandatories of the following belts (assuming they keep their positions): 1st: WBA (Charr) - last mandatory 2,068 days ago, Povetkin in 2018 2nd: IBF (Hrgovic) - last mandatory 1,256 days ago, Pulev in 2020 3rd: WBO (Parker) - last mandatory 969 days ago, Usyk in 2021 4th: WBC (Joshua) - last mandatory 759, Whyte in 2022 Here's my logic on how it could work; the Fury rematch is apparently slated for October, ie 5 months on...the governing bodies should just agree to have their mandatories called 5 months apart as well afterwards. So the WBA would be in March 2025, the IBF in August 2025, the WBO in January 2026 and the WBC in June 2026. Then you'd have the cycle repeat for whoever is undisputed by that point, and it keeps going. Each belt would get a mandatory 1x every 20 months, less than the 12 months they standardly call for but more than what they've had in recent memory. The champion can't hold the timeline up - if they pull out of camp due to an injury they're stripped of that belt and nominated as champion-in-recess; the #1 and #2 fight for that title, and once the organisation's next mandatory comes up then whoever is champ at that time fights the champ-in-recess (although if they're injured again/retired then that goes away altogether and they just have the official champ stay on). Rematch clauses also can't happen, the champ will be stripped for that belt if negotiating one, and the mandatory can't demand one since if they don't come to an agreement with the champ then it goes to purse-bids which exclude rematches. If th champ gets beat they could potentially have a "rematch" if the next organisation ranks them as the mandatory, so they could regain their top spot or if they lose just fall into the rankings and try again. Having a fight every 5th month means that the undisputed title would be on the line 2x one year and then 3x the next year, so it'd be relatively frequent, and all the while you'd have mandatories fighting to keep their spot ahead of their big shot, so that'd be its own point of interest besides the champion as well. Mandatory fighters would have to fight the #2 fighter between mandatory shots, so they don't get to just ride it out easy between mega-fights. But hey, what do I know, I just think undisputed should be the goal to keep, not be a flash in the pan!

Plan is probably to delay stripping the title so that hergavic Dubois isn’t a title fight but hergavic Joshua is. Instead of stripping Usyk of the IBF to make it free for Dubois and Hergervic why not allow Usyk to defend it against Hergervic? That just makes way more sence than stripping him of a title. There should be a penalty if a fight is sanctioned by a governing body, then the winner is stripped of the title within an allotted time period, maybe 50% of what the IBF received from the undisputed fight, would make them think twice before taking back the belt, and a fighter that signs step-aside money must except that is for two fights, if a rematch clause is included, and paid accordingly , if no rematch takes place then the mandatory benefits, will cut out a lot of the shananigans, what the F do these boxing promoters get paid for - picking up the cheque?

He would have to fight the winner of the HRG/DDD and AJ would be first in line for that, and maybe Usyk gets the rubber match ~ hypothetically ofc. I'm sick of these belts. Four different "world" champions? They should have regional belts and the holders of the regional belts qualify for a tournament every 4 years like the Olympics, and decide who the actual WORLD champion is at the tournament of all the contestants from the different parts of the world at that weight category. You can stagger weight categories so theres a tournament every year or whatever. That way you get one world champion and he's the world champion until the next tournament when he can try to do it again and be back to back champion, or someone else comes through. Do it like soccer leagues essentially. The world cup is only every 4 years. Everything else is to qualify for the big dance.
