Here in the California Sierra we got six feet of snow easily, which is why we have ALL our cut wood within 40 feet of the house in a covered shelter with a covered walkway. It looks like a two car carport but it's a must have in winter when we NEED to access firewood. Just seems disorganized to have piles and piles of cut wood in different places. Especially if someone has health issues or is getting old.

Yep...shelter that wood. I'm down in the Sierra foothills where it doesn't snow and have my two cords under a roof 👍

I thought I had enough along the garden. There was a lot of firewood out there tarped for the winter. But we burnt all that and then some. I am tapping into reserves now. But we have reserves. Yeah I know you are gonna be shocked about how much we burn. We burn 1 FC per week. But we are heating two houses and a greenhouse. Thats a lot.

Yes that is why the snow is now wet and heavy.

Troy…, We sure did have massive storms come through… and I was surprised at the negative temps we got. And being my first winter here, I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect… but I am surviving… and learning as I go.

Hey Troy. I remember from years ago that you were a pretty good small engine mechanic. Have you tried to find a non working gas powered full sized snow blower and fixed it up for your property? Perhaps too late to consider for this year but keep your eyes open for curb donations in the future. Wishing you and your family well. I was the guy who sent you one of the home made alcohol stoves I made. I hope you tried the correct fuel I suggested which was HEAT in the Yellow container. NOT the red one haha.
