It was so awful that my heart literally hurt for Caitlin Clark being taken off the court at crucial moments and all the supposed direction by the coach with no one coming to Caitlin's defense so that when she had the ball she could get unblocked and unload her awesome balling. Half way through the 3rd quarter I just couldn't watch any more of this horror show. Cruelty is on display here. The coach is worthless. And if she's not worthless then she is Intentionally and Purposefully misdirecting her Super Star Player. The question is: WHY?!!

Been no improvement at all in this area from the beginning of the year! It’s either sticking the hip out, using just their behind or mostly bailing out every single time. Pick n roll - they are great at rolling but have no interest in setting the pick! Very frustrating! I don’t know how much more anyone could expect from CC! One of the only players that I have seen at any level that gets full court pressure on a team that can’t even set screens!! The inept coach is likely driving her batty! First it’s she is shooting too much, followed by she needs to pass it more, now it’s she is not shooting enough and lastly she had a 13-assist night a week ago or so and I have not looked, but I would be surprised if she is not at the top of the league in assists!!!

Sides: "She (CC) is setting our team up for some really great looks but we're not able to finish those." She admits that when Caitlin is being double-teamed she's making great passes to players who have opportunities for easy shots and easy drives to the basket for layups. In the game against Seattle, I lost count of the times that Caitlin fed the ball to open players who had easy shots and clear lanes to the basket, and those players fumbled to catch the pass, didn't try to drive to the basket, missed easy shots, and even missed easy layups. I also saw Samuelson playing a great game, but yanked out and only allowed to play 4 minutes when she was the only one gelling with Caitlin in making plays work. When a player is clearly "on fire", that is NOT the player that you want sitting on the bench. The problem with the team is that players who aren't following instructions to set screens for Caitlin aren't benched. Players who don't pass to Caitlin when she's wide open for a 3-pointer aren't benched. Players who fumble passes from Caitlin aren't benched. Players who can't make easy shots aren't benched. Players who have the aggressiveness of mice and refuse to drive to the basket aren't benched. And, worst of all, players who can't even make an easy layup aren't benched. What I saw in the game with Seattle was good players yanked off the court and benched as soon as they started being effective, and Caitlin forced to try to play with timid, fumbling teammates who refused to follow the coach's instructions. It was a repeat of the common-denominator problem that I've seen with other games, which is Sides using zero disciplinary measures on stubborn players who don't follow instructions and lazy players who mosey down the court instead of trying to outrun defenders to get open for easy shots and layups. The reason why Caitlin was able to make that amazing court-long pass to Samuelson was because Samuelson ran her ass off to get herself in that undefended position. It's inexcusable that a player showing that much play-making hustle was yanked and benched. Just once I'd like a reporter to ask Sides these two simple question: "When Caitlin is breaking multiple rookie-records with her playing and the team is still getting stomped, how can you in any way try to put any of the responsibility or blame on Caitlin? Shouldn't you be more focused on the fact that the rest of the team aren't doing their jobs worth a damn?"

I have been suspicious about Sides decision on not providing screens for Caitlin Clark when double teamed. It's basic basketball strategy. Someone has to be next to Clark when the other team are blitzing. Either Clark has to lob the ball over 2 defenders then 4 Fever players had to set themselves for a 4 on 3 advantage near the basket or set for an uncontested 3 point shot by a consistent shooter. Gabbie Marshall has done it in Iowa. Why not WNBA pros????😅😅😅😅
