I believe that Clark volunteered for the draft because she expected to be teammates with Aliyah Boston. Before Clark got to The Fever, Boston appeared to be the nicest person in the world; now that Clark is part of The Fever, Boston appears to be the nicest person in the world. Unfortunately Caitlin Clark had no idea what an incompetent cesspool of toxicity Coach Christie Sides turned out to be. The Fever have 2 Number One draft picks, 2 Number Two draft picks, The Number One All Time NCAA Scorer and Number Three All Time NCAA Assist Leader, the Number Four All Time NCAA Scorer, and unplayed Grace Berger was 4 Time Big 10 1st Team. They've got good perimeter shooters that are not properly used, if used at all. They have good defenders and a Great Defender, foolishly traded. The Fever have World Class talent that has been turned into a shit show. Coach Sides should recognize she is a dumbass and turn over coaching the offense to Clark and Boston. Sides says she is a defensive specialist, if that is true Sides should recognize she is a terrible defensive coach and get professional help, I recommend Kevin McGuff. At present this is the most dysfunctional World Class Talented Team I have ever seen. I hope The Fever recover.

Well said and I agree completely. I remember Clark saying when she was drafted how excited she was to be joining an organization that was committed to winning. She had no idea what she was walking into. If this was the NBA, the GM and the coaching staff would get fired and they'd start with a clean slate, but in this case the owner is 89 years old and probably isn't paying much, if any, attention. I don't wish that the Fever will recover under these circumstances. I hope they lose every game the rest of the season, so that the status quo cannot be maintained, and another year gets wasted next year. My fear is that there is so much talent on this team that they will win just enough to go on as is, under the misguided perception that they just need more time as a young team. This group, under this leadership, could play together for the next 10 years and they would never come close to actualizing their potential.

Speaking of Celeste Taylor, in the 4th qtr of the Connecticut game that they played on 6/10, Sides finally put Celeste in the game. Celeste played for 7 minutes. Here's what she did in those 7 minutes. She was able to get around a screen in order to disrupt a shot. She got a block, she got a rebound for a bucket and she also got to the free throw line. She had 3pts and 1 block in that game in the measly 7 minutes that she played. Sides keeps preaching in interviews that they need "defense defense,defense" and yet, that's what Christy Sides let go. She and whoever else was involved in letting Celeste Taylor go are absolute buffoons and they need to go themselves.

CRISPY SIDES mentality is to play the highest paid, oldest , slowest ball hogging , best buds before her youngest, fastest, better shooters without a game plan or coaching instructions. She's way over her head and shouldn't be coaching ANYWHERE. EVERYONE can witness the draining of ambition and will for that whole team. Especially CC, AB, Samuelson, right down to Wallace , Mitchell and Williams who's numbers haven't been better since Clark feeding them. They should be the ones with more blocks, steals, rebounds, and assists at the end of EVERY GAME. Clark is the only one on the team post interviews who owns up to how she plays by saying she could've played better. The dropped passes,missed lay ups , mid range and 3 points bricks the "pros" are missing, are totally horrendous. The Flame needs to trim the fat and get rid of Sides first, then cut/trade the players who aren't putting up the stats of team playing and replace them with players who want to give 110%. Saving a lot of money and at the same time letting them know, a TEAM wins championships and do your jobs, this isn't what you're getting paid for.

I figured our what you stated here a while back. Grace Berger is not playing because she plays well with CC and finds her and the ball moves when she plays. Just like Samuelson here, as you point out. The reasoning for this I feel, if Berger for instance were to play more, and if players like Samuelson and Fagbenle were to be allowed to click with CC, then playing time for Wallace, Wheeler, and even Mitchell would have to logically dwindle. And coach Sides cannot allow that. Those are her favorites and their playing time must be protected at all costs. I decided that a very long time ago. Clark, 9 shots. Samuelson 4 minutes 2 points with an assist. Wallace 18 minutes 0 for 3 and got scored on by Loyd like a clinic. Wheeler 21 minutes. Mitchell 25 minutes. Is it not plain to see what the priorities are? And that is the sole reason why this team cannot win, and will not win. Coach Sides and her favorites must be prioritized.

Caitlin Clark Until stumbling over a news item, I had less than no interest in women's basketball, at any level. . One Second of seeing CC-22 impersonating Stephen Curry hooked me! The second second and I realized Caitlin Clark wasn't copying anybody! . Because what I know is based on clips showing her shooting half-court 3-pointers and making magical passes, reminiscent of Magic Johnson to Kareem when everyone in the stadium and home in front of their television KNEW the Sky-Hook was coming and nobody could stop it, I see patterns where the playing style of CC-22 is changing the team. Boston figured out that all she has to get below the basket, stick out a mitt and the basketball would appear in it. . Anyway, I think she is playing perfectly, playing her game and letting the team adjust to things like having a pass actually come to them, and supporting each others play. I think I see a team in name becoming a team in practice.

I have said it from the start of the season that I feel a call has been put in from high up within the WNBA to hold Clark back. Started the season with 11 games in 20 days without being able to build chemistry. Follow that by finally starting to play like a good team and reel off a 6-3 record over 9 games. This is added after the NY Liberty game. They played as a team and won. Kelsey Mitchel (14-2-4) looked much improved regarding synergy. No hogging the ball, no charging into the bigs for turn overs and excellent clutch shooting, especially with 3s. Hull looked good too. She is a keeper. Good teamwork and they all let CC do her job setting up and feeding the team (triple double). All these girls played a real tough game and showed what they are capable of. They are starting to catch those passes (CC had 13 assists) and hit those shots.

Wheeler and Mitchell both probably don't pass Caitlin the ball in that first play and Mitchell for sure drops that perfect pass from Caitlin in the 2nd play. CC probably should have had twice as many assists that game if her teammates could just catch the ball cleanly and make the easy open shots CC gives them.

Samuelson has been the best screener for CC. Also Samuelson is new to the team and she is not affiliated with Sides. I think Sides has a certain clique she is part of. If you are not a part of that clique then you on the outside. I know Samuelson, Clark, Taylor and Berger are not a part of the clique. Don't know about the other non starters.

The offense needs to go into Boston and then out starting with Kelsey Mitchell, the best shooter on the team, and then to the other players. They also need to play defense, as they are one of worst defenders in the league. With Clark leading that category as well. This is the team’s first season together, they”ll improve, but so will other teams as well. No Vet in the W is going to let Clark come and shoot all the shots and run the team. It’s not happening.

GM Dunn needs to go too. She was on a sports radio show, and she basically told the interviewer (Dan Dakich) that she has seen progress & then repeated that same line that the team is young. She makes it sound like the entire team is made up of only rookies. If she wants to keep with that line, maybe she needs to get rid of Wheeler, Wallace & Mitchell. Was saying they have beat the teams they are expected to beat & losing to the teams they are supposed to lose to, like the poor coaching/play is acceptable then! Someone needs to ask Sides why she benched Samuelson after she showed incredible hustle and precision in the little time she was allowed on the court. When you look at how fast she went down the court for CC to be able to hit her with that long pass, she was making other players look like they were taking a nap. What really pissed me off about the game was that ever time CC got double-teamed or triple-teamed by the other team, she'd pass the ball to players who either fumbled catching the pass or missed easy, open shots. With two or three players focusing on CC, that meant openings for other players to make drives for the basket. I'm also getting to the point that I cringe whenever the ball is going to Smith. She's becoming creative in finding ways to screw up.
