Many people here have already pointed out that it was actually Kise's idea. And they are right. Despite him acting all that friendly Kise is not that simple. Kise respects only those who are "cool". Which is why before he found out what Kuroko was capable of he was treating him like trash. Which Akashi noticed and therefore put the two of them in the team with the second string so that Kuroko could show his strength to Kise. In that particular match Kuroko taught Kise that there are more important things than personal success and that there is no use in being the coolest around if the team loses. And since then Kise started respecting Kuroko. But he still only acknowledged those who were as cool as he was such as GoM. Which is why he doesn't see anything criminal in such an act of disrespect towards another team. They are weak for him so, in his opinion, there's no need to respect them. Kuroko knew about this trait of his character and that is why he was indifferent to all his tears and drama and all his attempts to be closer to him. Kuroko personally valued sincerity and openness in people more which is why he always admired Aomine. And Kise's transformation was completed in Kaijo where Kasamatsu taught him to respect his teammates even though they were not as strong as he was.

Yeah I agree. When Kise first arrived at Kaijo, he didn’t respect the team at first and Kasamatsu. Kise had the nerve to stand up to his captain and tell him right to his face he was probably better than him, and why should he respect a person like that?

Yeah it was Kise's idea but Akashi is the one that just let it happen, he was the captain after all. He's in control of his team. That being said though Akashi is right about the selfish request from Kuroko.

There are a few nuanced things that I want to point out: - Notice how even after Kuroko told the team they just did this to his friend, no one except Kise felt bad about it at all. Instead they just said it was impossible to play a serious game anyway. No one agrees with his idea of giving the opponent an all-out game. - Kise came up with the idea (another examples of him being cruel to strangers), but on the other hand he seems to care about Kuroko's feelings a bit more than the others. - Akashi's argument is that playing the little game WAS a way to get the team more focused and playing better, similar to competing for points, though that is probably not his main reason. One thing that was cut from the anime was that Ogiwara gave Akashi a whole "you guys only care about winning and have no love for basketball" speech in the hallway when they met. I always found him kind of annoying because of that. He sounded like a typical shounen MC but IRL that'd be quite offensive to say to your opponent right before a game. His speech ended with something like we enjoy basketball even if we'll lose, so in a way Akashi let Teiko show him a loss he couldn't enjoy. I found it to be savage but poetic.

Here's what I got from reading the manga: You could tell Akashi was a little ticked off from his interaction with Ogiwara. When Kise proposed the "111-11" idea, Akashi's reason for agreeing was "the opponents are perfect for that". Which means he really wanted to show Ogiwara a game he couldn't enjoy. There are a lot of dialogue cut out from the manga from when Kuroko confronted them: Akashi - "The difference in our strengths were too great. The results would've been the same, no matter what." Kise - "Kuroko's friends were our opponents? You should've said something. Ah, but I guess it would've been impossible even if it was your friend." Murasakibara - "Isn't it obvious we'd get bored of just scoring? We're not volunteers, you know." Midorima - "I don't have an interest in how the rest of you play, I only need to fulfill my own purpose." Aomine - "Why can't the strong have a little fun, too? It's their fault they're so damn weak. They should be apologising to us." None of the GOM regretted their actions- in fact, they were defending it. Sure, Kise felt a little bad, but even he admitted he wouldn't have been able to take the game seriously anyways. It tells us that all of them were to blame for what happened, it wouldn't have changed if Akashi told them or not. Keep in mind that in the one game where all of them decided to play seriously (first round of the Nationals), they demolished the opponents by 198-8. The strength difference was literally too great.
@emanuelr.desousa6878
@emanuelr.desousa6878 3 жыл бұрын
I think Kuroko got mad by the GOM not because they was focused in winning but because they were enjoying their opponent lost by that moment. That's why he only felt bad when Teiko won his friend's team, it's was when he figured out. I guess it's why Kise was feeling guilty tho. He just wanted to make winning funnier, but when he realised it's was Kuroko's friend he felt guilty by enjoying his pain (or make it seems like so).

Well, the anime only showed the part were he noticed that Kuroko wasn't smiling but in the manga he did comment that while Teiko was strong that there was something off with the whole team as Kuroko was the only one passing and the rest was all over the place. I would say placing Ogiwara on the same level of "Shounen Hero mentality" is a bit too much considering that he has more context than those cases. I mean, if you meet your friend and see that they became dead inside/depressed, noticed that he's kind isolated and that his environment seems unhealthy as hell then it wouldn't be strange to question their policy. Plus, he only started going about it AFTER Akashi told him that he was aware that they were looking forward to play with each other but Kuroko being in the match or not won't change the result. Akashi knew how much it meant for both of them but was disregarding it's importance. This would set red flags. There's nothing savage nor poetic about what they did, that was only pettiness.

As a captain Akashi's first priority is to his team. Remove him and at this point in the story and it might just be Midorima and Kise playing, Aomine and Murasakibara having quit because they simply couldn't enjoy the game anymore or in Kurokuos case because he wasn't good enough. Akashi had to change in order to rein in the rest, to keep the team together for as long as possible.

Kuroko and momoi were the only non affected members unlike the rest 5 and probably the ones who were most emotionally attached with everyone but in the end both were helpless to do anything like spectators. Kuroko after his conversation with aomine was already in a mess in his head that he couldn't remember his promise to momoi because he was the most dependent person and the last hope to her which is heartbreaking to see. At the end even Kuroko broke. The conversation under the beautiful sakura trees seeing the flashback from momoi's pov watching kuroko walk (because hes the only one left from the group in the flashback), beautiful and sad the same time. This arc really hits you.

You right, that Seiren game they witnessed was the one that Teppei got injured. It was the ultimate culmination of their teamwork and willpower at the time which got through to Kuroko One thing I've realized after thinking about it and seeing these eps so many times is that the GoM had a point about being unable to play a good game. They were blowing the other team out by over a *hundred points*, them going as hard as they can isn't fun for them and it certainly wouldn't be fun for the other team either. There really was no option on how to play a game both sides would enjoy That scene from Momoi and Kuroko walking together was also gorgeous af since it was in their colours as the only two with any hope left And if you look back on it, Kise and Midorima were the two from the GoM that actually still tried as hard as they could which is why they were the first ones Kuroko managed to reach

Ey Akashi was right though, promise or no promise. Kuroko was just a hypocrite. All the other teams teiko played where they weren't serious and kuroko kept quiet but now that it's someone he knows he decides to speak up. But it did show Kuroko calling them out, specifically when they were competing to see who scored more and the others scoffed it off as "motivating themselves". Kuroko wasn't indifferent. He did try, but gave up at trying anymore and his promise to his friend was the only thing that still managed to get a reaction out of him at that moment. That's very much different to what Akashi spun his argument at.
@mzwethu3805
@mzwethu3805 3 жыл бұрын
@iAm Portz no its cause your comment said " but Seirin as a whole is far more excited to play against someone they know is better." You can see that they don't try as hard when playing smaller teams in the same way teiko doesn't try. What i meant is it's easy for Seirin to get inspiration from playing stronger teams simply because there are many teams better than them but there aren't any teams better than teiko(if any). That's the reason that they stopped looking for opponents outwards and instead looked for opponents inside the team

*Small spoiler warning for Akashi* It's a bit strong pinning this all on akashi when initially the rest of the team came up with the idea without him before the game. Akashi wanted to do things like this such as competing for points to boost morale and motivate the team, not to crush opponents. as much as he's a freak for winning its not as if he wants to hurt people he just doesnt really consider it. it is also important to note that his second personality was created due to trauma, which is how DID works. the pressure of success and the death of his mother (idk if its been mentioned yet) pushed him over the edge. winning is his coping mechanism, he doesnt seek to harm the team or anyone else. murasakibara and aomine were ultimately the ones that put the cherry on top at the end

First of all: That was Kise's plan, so while I'm not saying to take the blame off Akashi I'm saying to redirect part of it to Kise. Thank you Kasamatsu for being a great captain and teaching him to have some respect. Second: Well, f*ck you Akashi for gaslighting Kuroko like that, he did call you on your policy of "winning being everything" and did try to call on your colective asses again when you were competing for points among yourselves but disregarded his opinions because it was "motivation". Kuroko wasn't indifferent to the situation, he gave up, he wasn't even asking, he was pleading to you guys to AT LEAST take THIS game seriously, because if you can't do it when he asks you to treat everyone with respect to AT LEAST put an effort in this one instance for his sake. Akashi may have given his approval in part to "motivate" the team but this was very much motivated by sheer pettiness. He pretty much disregarded the importance of their promise despite being aware of that fact even before talking with Kuroko, said that being cool with losing as long as you have fun is a mentality of the weak and told Ogiwara to HIS FACE that both him as a player and his opinion was worthless, wasn't that quite enough my dude? Honestly, Kuroko and Ogiwara are way more mature and much better people than I will ever be after the shiat the GoMs pulled. From Ogiwara's part, by all accounts, It wouldn't have been weird if he hated and resented the GoMs for that but the only thing he thought after that was "Kuroko will manage to reach them and melt that coldness" And Kuroko trying to show them that teanwork is important and being happy for them when they becone better people? If you want a real Kuroko's smile you have to watch the 75.5 episode. A good conclusion with the last game movie👍🏽

In manga kuroko did not go for a double team or steal or block or force an offensive foul but rather he is the one defending "that" player, "that" player get frustrated against teiko because no matter how many times their school get better they can't win against teiko and so he thought of hurting them not thinking of consequences like haizaki and hanamiya. ...

People in the comments are a bit overly apologetic for the miracles here, especially Akashi. Yes, Oigwara didn't know their whole situation, yes they would have struggled to take it seriously but the point is THEY DIDN'T EVEN TRY AMD MADE IT A GAME. Two wrongs don't make a right. Akashi can't fully control them but he could have let the situation be known, lead by example, discourage bad practices, and then come what may. I'm not saying everyone didn't play a part and they are still kids at the end of the day but to say that things couldn't have been better even at this point and they couldn't be better people instead of, let's call it like it is- assholes & bullies, is ridiculous.

i know it wasnt akashi's idea but it's still his responsibility as captain, and the only one who knew what kuroko asked, to be better. any coach woulda shut that shit down
@gntyh
@gntyh 3 жыл бұрын
his responsibility as captain was to win and keep his team motivated. besides, just because kuroko has a personal stake in that match they’re supposed to suddenly play different? he said it himself, kuroko was selfish because his friend was playing and kept quiet every other game

In season 2 episode 2 ( the episode tetsu showed momoi the vanishing drive ). Momoi said " tetsu kun lets play basketball again sometime with everyone " and tetsu replied yes :) . It's a small scene but when i look back on it makes me happy . In a way they both remade that promise . During this episode ( in the video which took place in the past ) tetsu did lose his hope of generation of miracles being together with them
