Tbh, akashi’s point against kuroko makes perfect sense. You can’t make your lack of presence your main play style while at the same time, doing flashy things that give you greater presence. Does that mean kuroko should not get better? Not really- its just something kuroko has to keep in mind :) Edit: just realised that Akashi did the very thing he was shitting on kuroko for- developed a phantom sixth man who’s skill would cancel out him being a ‘phantom’… ironic Edit 2: also, Kise supremacy :^)
@HxH2011DRA3 жыл бұрын
That's what we call dramatic irony
@syahmioziar52903 жыл бұрын
I understand your point but i felt their situation is different. The effect being flashy has on Tetsuya is permanent. He got his skill back because Chihiro underestimate him but the moment Tetsuya try to score in any game, he will most likely lose his "misdirection" permanently. That why we didn't get Kuroko scoring in this match or in Extra Game. Chihiro on the other hand only lost his skill in this match temporarily. He can use it later in the future but as he is 3rd year, he most likely stop playing and focus on his university exam.
@goodwillambassador93553 жыл бұрын
Akashi developed a phantom with better basics but it's not him who told him to score. Chihiro might have been permitted to score occasionally but not several times in a row. When Kuroko was put against him it angered Mayuzumi since it looked like he is being mocked and not taken seriously even though he already showed that Kuroko cannot do anything against him. His pride got him blind and he decided to score while he had an opportunity despite all the risks, which got him right into the Seirin's trap. And this is where Kise's words are relevant "It's easy to be called a phantom but it's not easy to be one". Only a person who can sacrifice his own moment of glory for the sake of his team can truly become a phantom. Chihiro Mayuzumi is too prideful to constantly play in shadow. Deep inside he considers playing only in support beneath him which got him thinking more about his personal battle with Kuroko and less about the game and his team. Mayuzumi made a bad call. It's not Akashi who developed him that way. It's his nature which insisted on scoring despite the role Akashi had given to him.

Haikyuu's is 赤葦(Aka+ashi) & KnB's is 赤司Aka+shi. Though many non-Japanese speakers seem to pronounce them the same way, the 2nd "a" in Akashi is much shorter than how the reactor is pronouncing it, & the 3rd "a" in Akaashi is completely independent from the 2nd & pronounced separately instead of the 2nd & 3rd being just a single, prolonged "a" sound, so they are actually not the same at all to Japanese speakers.

Its much more difficult for shorter guys to dunk like that but its actually very possible!! There are a few US dunkers around the 5'5-5'10 range that arent NBA level athletes, and even guys as short as 5'2 can dunk! Of course it'd take a lot more vertical training than bigger guys, but its something that can be done ✅

See, this is why I don't really feel like Nebuya deserves to be put in the same level as the other Uncrowned Kings. Each one of them have a powerful "gimmick" while he has... Crude strength. ...Am I honestly to be impressed that he can body Teppei around using that strength when Teppei is crippled by his injury that worsens with every game? About the first years bench warmers, It's not just because they aren't used to play in an official game. Nerves and stress can quickly drain your stamina out. The GoMs already have a strong aura, but Akashi is on another level of intimidating, the bench warmers are not used to this pressure. THAT being said, it's pretty impressive that they managed to get 2 baskets in despite the general helpless vibe of the whole episode. Not to belittle Fukuda's contribuition, and I know I am hella biased here, but man, Furihata really shines in the little amount of spotlight he gets. (I guess it's because of the emphasis on shitting on him beforehand that made it more cathartic.) It's kind hilarious to me that he's compared to a trembling Chihuahua because Furihata has a much stronger mental core than what the in-universe detractors leads you to believe. To emphasis, again, Furihata was put to face Kasamatsu and Akashi, the 2 most intimidating captains in his first showing and managed to score a point despite the pressure on the field and inexperience. (In Akashi's case even more so because unlike the other benchwarmers he had to accompany Kuroko in the GoM's meeting and witness Akashi trying to stab Kagami with scissors.) His mindset when he had to be benched is also pretty telling. Despite being clearly out of stamina he insisted that he could keep going and he was much more frustrated that he wasn't strong enough to do more instead of outright giving up and thinking it's useless. (Plus his basket is the only part of the episode that was portrayed in a positive light, even Fukuda's wasn't because it was marred with the emphasis on Teppei losing to Nebuya.) (I unapologetic think Furihata is great and I stand to the end of my days that he will be Seirin's captain when Hyuga graduates) Also, Hyuga, get your shit together already man! That's the 4th time you affect your team because you can't keep your composure!
