My question is, I have a Disney cruise for my birthday from Sept 23-27 going from Port Canaveral to Nassau and a new Disney Cay called Lookout Point Lighthouse Cay or something like that. Hey Rusty, according to one report, the ACE score for 2024 is now 70.2, that's about equivalent to that of Hurricane Ivan 2004 (70.4). Over half of the 2024 score-to-date belongs to Beryl. Somewhat drier in eastern Jamaica today; good thing, as two more persons were washed away (in St Mary parish). Seems one was confirmed drowned.

Cyclone is a generic name for any tropical system. The National Hurricane Center uses that term, because it hasn’t formed yet, and may ultimately be a depression, tropical storm or hurricane. -Rusty

Weather in the future is forecasting? And models go out two weeks and beyond? And we can talk about trends, especially when the global models agree during the most active part of hurricane season? Having a discourse about that potential is part of it. Move on.
