He was! saw him here in Boston on the Up From The Ashes tour 90 and on one of the songs (can't remember which one exactly) he opened playing this awesome acoustic intro. Check out live in paris 82, vids on here someplace, tons of playing from Don on that.

1. GL is about the only player that not only grows by leaps and bounds by age, but juices up every corner of his own songs it leaves you speechless, happy and saying d@#n at the same time. 2. It would be easy to say what things would have been like if Mr. Scary and Don D did the whole together post guitar solo two part music break throughout Dokken's glory years, but as a friend in high school said right after SH joined VH "there has to be tension between the guitarist and the singer or you just get a bunch of love songs." 3. Love how Don strikes his own style that is not confined by anything in this. Dokken's tone, his own song, trying to compete with GL, nothing. Just doing it his way and doing it dang straight. Very cool. 4. Dream show: Don, Jeff, Mick, George, Oni, Anthony, Peter Baltes, Mikkey D, John N & Billy W. Seen 'em on their respective tours together, but all on stage at one time end of concert 80's style/rock HOF jam would be off the rails.

For those of you who keep pointing out the Don's voice is going what the hell did you expect, look at his age. Those of us that go see darken in fact any of these old bands we go for nostalgia we understand that they may not sound as good as they used to. The point is we go for the memories.

Ive seen dokken 2 times in my life. Once in 1995 and again in 2016. Both times they were great but the 2016 show was with a changed lineup
