In my head, I was singing along to the sad but nonetheless emotional lyrics with a smile on my face. This was the first Linkin Park song I ever listened to back in my teen years and has stuck with me through my 20's. RIP Chester Bennington.

Lyrics: [Verse 1] Memories consume Like opening the wound I'm picking me apart again You all assume I'm safe here in my room Unless I try to start again [Pre-chorus] I don't want to be the one The battles always choose 'Cause inside I realize That I'm the one confused [Chorus] I don't know what's worth fighting for Or why I have to scream I don't know why I instigate And say what I don't mean I don't know how I got this way I know it's not alright So, I'm breaking the habit I'm breaking the habit tonight [Verse 2] Clutching my cure I tightly lock the door I try to catch my breath again I hurt much more Than anytime before I had no options left again [Pre-chorus] I don't want to be the one The battles always choose 'Cause inside, I realize That I'm the one confused [Chorus] I don't know what's worth fighting for Or why I have to scream I don't know why I instigate And say what I don't mean I don't know how I got this way I'll never be alright So, I'm breaking the habit I'm breaking the habit tonight [Pre-chorus] I'll paint it on the walls 'Cause I'm the one at fault I'll never fight again And this is how it ends [Chorus] I don't know what's worth fighting for Or why I have to scream But now I have some clarity To show you what I mean I don't know how I got this way I'll never be alright So, I'm breaking the habit I'm breaking the habit I'm breaking the habit tonight [Chorus] I don't know what's worth fighting for Or why I have to scream I don't know why I instigate And say what I don't mean I don't know how I got this way I'll never be alright So, I'm breaking the habit I'm breaking the habit I'm breaking the habit (Tonight)

Even to this day, It still hurts to listen to any Linkin Park song. I don't think I'll ever be able to listen to one of their songs without tearing up a little. I was a bit late to the Linkin Park scene. I found them when Transformers came out and I fell in love with "What I've Done" back when I was like 11 years old. Linkin Park was how I found my love for music. Rest In Peace, Chester. If only you knew how much we all loved you.

The amount of fucking disrespect to this guy in the replies, depression isn’t as easy to solve as “SeEk a TherApIsT” it’s hard, and sometimes your lost and don’t know what to do, this doesn’t go for everyone with depression but atleast show some respect for a man who tragically couldn’t end this battle in his favor

@@gatechaser2637 Sometimes the darkness is so all-consuming that to most afflicted with the type of depression that Chester had, there's no way out. It's not about being rich and famous. Sure some really harsh criticisms probably don't help, but listening to the interviews and reading between the lines in the songs that he himself wrote. It was never about fame. He'd had this depression for a *long* time. Eventually, it got so bad to the point where, as I said, he thought there was no way out of it.

Even after a week or so, Chester's death is still going round the world, the thing is his lyrics are the powerful reminders of what he was going through battling his demons, but one part of breaking the habit song stuck out on me is this one - *Clutching my cure I tightly lock the door I try to catch my breath again I hurt much more Than anytime before I had no options left again* What happened to him was pretty much grim the way he went with his death, even though this song was\ written way before this all happened... strange

Finding this channel only 2 weeks ago, I'm rather late. This is my young adult music In the style of chiptune music I grew up with as a kid. Never was big with one particular artist, I just find it hard to believe that Linkin Park is entering a new phase in their career just like Lynard Skynard did after the plane crash (before my time) if they could do it so can Linkin Park. They just need to not try to find a Chester Bennington sound-alike, that would be an insult to his memory.
