Even more basic: People like to feel comfortable with what they "know". When they hear/see things that clash with these things, they feel uncomfortable - that's cognitive dissonance. And now you realise that people you know and love are believing something that is a lie or at best a corruption of the truth. Remember: in any relationship (personal, family, workplace, transactional, political), the only people that would claim that everyone else is just as bad AND you should defend and stay with them are toxic. Unhealthy. Abusers. If you see someone defending the relationship they've chosen by claiming that they're much better than the dysfunctional one they're in to THIS degree? We've all seen it. They're told what to cut out of their lives, who to hate, how everyone else has it in for them and THAT'S why they have it hard. And when they're shown a clear example (or twenty) of how they have a choice to get out of the abusive dynamic, they make excuses for why they're in the position they're in. First with a forced air of calm with nervous laughter, and then with seething rage. And they go right back to the abuse. The Conservatives aren't even a political party anymore. It's just an abusive relationship at this point. They cut you off from your friends in Europe, they left you broke, they're making life harder for you every day, they give you words like "woke" and "leftist" to hate everyone else with. And now you see the abused patsies that keep the cycle of abuse going, the abused that become abusers.

@@storms9023I expected some clever response, and you didn't disappoint. The same sort of answer that tries to make your self superior. Right out of the stereo playbook! As you are so clever, why ispitics and marriage the same? i don't understand it because you are comparing your marriage to politics. You marry hopefully for life. So you are saying you treat your marriage to politics, because that is weird.

What truly baffles me is why people like that still keep phoning in to "do battle" with J O'B. I mean, seriously, what do they really think is going to happen?

How James O'Brien keeps a straight face is beyond me. It's incredible that anybody can come on national radio & spout so much gibberish. Hadn't got a clue what he was talking about but very entertaining nonetheless!

The caller is a core Borris voter - ironically comes across as someone "anti-woke" but fully immersed in cancel culture in regards to Kier Starmer's stance on gender

I think both Boris Johnson, and Keir Starmer are wrong. Ones a liar, and can't tell the truth. The other seems to not be able to state accurate facts.

How is he immersed in cancel culture? Politicians all over the world crumbling at a simple question is ridiculous and needs to be addressed.

What is his stance on gender ?
@jackriver19992 жыл бұрын
UK law says trans people who get a gender recognition certificate are legally the gender they identify with under the. If you have a problem with this, then vote for a party that will overturn this law. Funnily enough, neither the Tories or Labour have proposed to overturn this law. So, it's just more culture war posturing to distract the plebs as those in power loot the country.
