You've got out-of-state plates. He didn't care if you had a dashcam because he gambled you'd not bother to return to fight it in court. Easy money. I have mad support for police, but as with any group of humans, there are some ass-hats. In fact, I just had one pull me over today trying to get me for passing a stopped school bus. Problem is, I'm local, and uhhh, I didn't at all. And I had the dashcam there to prove it. I didn't mention I had it it, I just let him have a few moments to observe it for himself. No ticket. Oh, there were also cameras at the two schools there, cameras on the bus, and cameras on his cruiser... all of which would have corroborated my story. I have a nearly impeccable driving record and I've been driving for 20 years with at least 600K miles under my belt. That dashcam was 20 bucks at Wally World, and has already saved me thrice. One of the best investments I have ever made.
