I agree with Krystal, in that the fact that he may or may not get “convicted” will make 0% difference in whether or not Republicans will vote for Trump… they don’t care… Trump is unfortunately going to win, because this time around his base has more fervor to vote for him than last time, and Biden is losing huge numbers of Blacks, Latinos, and Arab Americans, which were the ones that carried him across the finish line last time… The Trump base is immovable, whereas Biden has neglected his base, and completely alienated those minority groups that put him over the edge.

My precinct, like many others, was a full house. More than 2016 turned out. And some of the elderly turned out to vote against Nikki because she wants to gut Social Security more than any of the others. Like she seems really serious about it. The Seltzer Poll was the one in 2020 who had Bernie in the lead . There was a minor error that impacted the polling, so they scrapped it totally. Mayo Pete probably doesn't "win" Iowa if that poll shows him losing the weekend prior. Bernie had a chance to gain momentum but Seltzer couldn't have that.

Iowa has 718k registered Republicans as of November 2023. Only 110k voted in the caucus. Only 56k voted for Trump. 56k of 718k registered republicans is only about 7%. Sure, this could be just a sample, so maybe it truly is 50%. But he couldn't get 50% of 718k to vote in the caucus.

The historic blizzard might had something to do with it... even if the weather were good, 100% voter turnout is impossible. In non major elections the best you usually get is about 30%... count in the -30F and the low voter turnout doesn't mean much anymore.

20:15 Caucuses aren't actually run by the state government. It's an event organized entirely by parties. Also, they still do prayer sessions in Congress, so I doubt most people are gonna pay much attention to praying at caucus sites. *Saying this as someone who firmly believes in the separation of church and state, btw, before people try to misinterpret this as an opinion. Just saying why they're able to get away with it.*
