15:10 That's because of any of the extensions that you have installed, it's not fault of Next.js but the extensions. If you open in incognito window, then you won't get that error.

To all the freshers, just know that this mostly don't apply to you. Doing nextjs you'll still be doing a lot of react which is on top. While looking for job you'll probably be evaluated on DSA. Dev is there and some companies focus on that more, but you are not going to be rejected because you did nextjs, unless their requirement is anything other than react. People become software engineers after doing DSA sheets, and you cannot become web dev after doing web dev?? Just focus on building good portfolio and DSA.

Great Video. TLDR: Shipped two mid sized projects and unfortunately got the heat of App router which eventually made the pages router and remix looked more mature. Project 1: Next.js 14 w App router, WordPress and Woocommerce in backend The server components worked really good when started pulling data over GraphQL request. I was really enjoying using server components. Things started to fall apart when trying to implement the authentication. Token rotation was a pain, I had to forcefully create more non-logical components just to display the data, client components were annoying. And lets not forget the weird hydration errors which wants you to guess. I thought maybe it was not Next.js but the backend architecture which I may have not configured it properly (there were some errors too from WP side when I had to code a custom plugin) and hence gave it a second try. Project 2: Next.js 14 with custom backend (REST API) Now again as the application is started to get a lot of data, Next.js feels slow and crashing at times that too in production. I think for the Project 2, I may migrate to remix. But vercel won and lost at the same time.

the hydration error you're getting is due to some extension which is manipulating your DOM, try disabling extensions one by one and check it again, and yes it proves your point, I too had to go through this pain recently

Mai Vite + React use kar raha tha, lekin SEO sabse badi problem thi. Google bot kabhi-kabhi kuch JS files fetch nahi kar pa raha tha, jiski wajah se mera page render nahi ho raha tha. Main Next.js ki taraf move karne ka soch raha tha, lekin recent negative reviews ki wajah se doubt ho gaya. Tabhi pata chala ki React Router ab ek framework ban gaya hai, Remix integration ke saath. Mujhe laga ki jo kaam main Next.js se karna chahta tha, woh ab React Router se ho sakta hai. Aur React Router DOM toh waise bhi use kar raha tha, toh transition asaan ho gaya. Haan, React Router v7 abhi naya hai, toh kuch bugs aur issues mil sakte hain, lekin long-term ke liye ye mujhe better solution lagta hai.

You are seriously very right, Nextjs is slowly becoming a low code tool and product instead of a framework. When we spin off our Nextjs 15 boilerplate it shows hydration errors immediately and I keep banging my head how is this error popping up, now I got to know that this is happening to everyone moreover it is very difficult to deploy nextjs project to any cloud other than Vercel. They need to give more control to developers rather than themselves. But I still like their server components, api routes, server actions and image and link optimization and has spoiled my habit to create a backend code in the same file where the frontend is present

I agree with you. I was learning Next.js, but I stopped because of the frequent updates. It's difficult to keep up. The latest updates are especially challenging when working on a production project because they are so different from previous updates. I’m primarily a Laravel developer, so it’s hard to stay up to date with Next.js due to the frequent changes.

The same hydration errors are triggering me. I made my whole portfolio website using shadCN and next.js and rendered the specific code on the client which has to be done, but still, I face this hydration error. I also used the setMounted method to see if the component was mounted and after that, we had to load the component but still that error. I prefer to stick with react and EJS

vendor lock-in is a problem. But running the boilerplate code of nextjs does not produce hydration errors, also the app router provides way easier client side routing when compared with the default react router.

Another thing to add. The new APIs isn't a 100% replacement for old ones. Like you could do stuff with the older way, that you can't now. Passing data around is an added challenge too. Will learn Remix eventually.

I always like to explore latest tech. But when i tried to use nextjs v15, it was giving me lots of errors and unable to use some popular libraries like framer-motion. Also had a question to myself that did I make any mistake to learn Next.js app router concepts as I had to relearn about the 15v again. We have the same stack in our company. Next Js + ReactQuery frontend and NestJs + drizzle backend. It's better than our old spring boot + angular stack. But we are planning to scale by switching Nest JS to GoLang in the future. I always felt React is so much more flexible and intuitive than Angular, and react developers are in abundance.

open in incognito mode ; there will be no hydration error; you have some extension enabled which are causing those errors ; point out those and disable them ;

and putting large files inside the public folder increases the bandwidth cost; use amazon s3 or other buckets it significantly reduce bandwidth cost; image in the public folder has some limits if you want to cut down the cost.

When Remix May Not Be the Best Choice If you need full static site generation (SSG) for apps like blogs, Next.js or Gatsby may be more appropriate. As here in comments some friends are saying that to use Remix instead of NEXT JS, we came from React to NextJS mainly because of SEO friendly site, blog is also SEO focused.. if there is problem as given above then why we should move from NextJS to Remix? if website is not SEO focused then still we can create website with React.... Please suggest if anyone have experience with all this ?? Also chatGPT moved from NextJS to Remix, I think chat GPT never want SEO type services for its portal...

As long as your projects are up and running, you shouldn't run out of any other framework. At the end of the day, the end user doesn't care about the tech stack that you used. So it doesn't matter actually.. For beginners who don't know to program yet, it'll matter. But stick to one solid tech stack and continue it.. When you'll get domain experience you can easily switch between tech stack if you want

I had a similar problem with Next js, still building Apps the old way, creating raw boilerplate and scaling up as per the needs(although this is a clutter prone approach but I have the control in the end and can customize). I've used Remix too, dont you think they are also heading the Next js way?

The Next.js 15 boilerplate code Hydration error is caused by the Grammarly extension installed on Google Chrome. After removing the extension, it worked for me.

Yes, for developement, open up Ignito and work there. In my case lastpass chrome extension was the culprit behind Hydration errors.

This video does not pass the sniff test. It feels like a grift from beginning to end. Since the beginning of time KZbinrs have relied on the tried and true "clickbait" thumbnail. I don't think they realize how arrogant they sound when professing advanced knowledge of a product or feature that noobs are just now learning. Including explaining the reasons why they technically outgrew technologies and tools. We noobs are not there yet. So this is not helpful. Not to mention that this is clearly geared towards Hindi speakers, so I could not completely follow the logic behind. When I get advanced enough in Next.js, I'll prolly look around, but for now, watching this has been an exercise in futility for me.

if you are site is heavily client side, use remix else next.js

Bro I am tired of this shit! and I guess this is the right time to fallback to Angular! I left it for this freaky React! and now every now and then a new framework gets on top of it and mess up after a few good years

I think we should learn next js because many companies are needed next js developer nowadays
