I agree with you on the soliciting but no way is the commercial justified. Yeah it's was just his case at first but his ad is representing the class action as well as the entire firm of Davis & Main. You don't get to just be hired by Walmart and start putting out your own Walmart ads. Cliff Main rightfully points out that yes Jimmy's ad did bring in people for the class action, but it hurt their brand because the ad came off as too manipulative and corny for the prestige image they want to display. No way in hell is this solicitation. He clearly plays it by-the-book here. Note the interaction with Lydecker: Jimmy doesn't address him, only answers after Lydecker has interacted with him. The fact that Sandpiper stonewalled him from meeting clients in their homes forced him to meet them on a bus like this. If Sandpiper didn't want other people overhearing, they would have been smart to set up private meeting spaces for Jimmy to meet people who responded to the mailer. By stonewalling him from their residences, they opened up this opportunity for Jimmy, and he was being an excellent lawyer by seizing on it. This isn't solicitation, this is a strategic failure on Sandpiper's part. Once again, Chuck was completely in the wrong, and simply going out of his way to sabotage Jimmy.

The small thing I love about this is where he describes someone robbing her at gunpoint. Then immediately tells them to put the image out of their head. That's all they're going to be thinking about. Brilliant

I honestly could watch an entire show of Jimmy living a slow life. I dont even care.

Jimmy McGill uses his acting chops for cons but he is excellent at it! What if Jimmy made an honest career out of acting! Maybe one day he could've played a sleazy lawyer on a great TV show, or a wrote and starred in a comedy sketch show, or became a badass action star in his 50s..

People think Jimmy is such a great guy inside because of how nice he acts toward the elderly. When, in reality, he does so because he's a con artist and they are the most vulnerable to scams.

This makes me want a show about a con-man lawyer like Jimmy who uses his skills to win cases for folks who've gotten screwed over, rather than just for the money.

The most wholesome thing Jimmy did was take a L and look like a complete scumbag in front of all the elderly people in order for that one lady to be accepted and friends with all the elderly again😭.....even though it was technically him that caused them all to hate her in the first place but hey he made it all right in the end again even if it cost him all buisness with the elderly
@ClintonKE2 жыл бұрын
Wholesome? He pretty much started a fire and let it burn a few floors before putting it out with that case.

@Clint true, but he still went out and pretty much burned his main source of income, just to help an elderly woman. Gotta give him that.

At the end Jimmy showed how he always cared about the old folks. How he really cared about everything. His father, mother, Chuck, Kim, not Howard though. It just make it all the more sadder to see who he has become in Breaking Bad.

I wouldn't call that a con really. Chuck immediately disregards Jimmy's method to onboard plaintifs, but the truth is those are elderly people and Jimmy truly helped them understand the situation so they could express their will. This is not corners-cutting, it's actual help and explaining, something which all lawyers should do.

This is my favorite version of Jimmy. The one is who is doing a good thing but with the help of a little chicanery on the side. While he's doing it pretty much solely for the money, he's still doing a good thing for these old folk

I've always loved how the interactions with seniors were written in this show. Having worked with seniors for the better part of 10 years now it's done so in such an accurate and respectful way, the writing is obviously outstanding in BCS but the finer details like this are really what kept me hooked.

my heart aches knowing that jimmy's mistakes and inner demons cost him a life of actively helping the elderly; a job he clearly enjoyed because he worked with people he certainly cared for at a personal level. his techniques were iffy, but his intentions and end-results were sincere. i cannot ever vent enough how much i pity his downfall and how tragic i find his story. he really was (arguably) a good man back in this era.

One of the things Jimmy dos well is remember names/faces. You need that as a conman. He can meet someone once and remember them. It comes off as very charming and puts people at ease. It’s nice to see him using it in a very moral way here to get these elderly citizens the information since Sandpiper crossing won’t let him in. And yes, this means more money for Jimmy. But he’s at his best when he’s using his whits and charm for the greater good

I like the point that when Jimmy asks her about going to dinner he uses the term Nephew instead of asking for a Grandson. This adds a slight bit if flattery that Alma “can’t be old enough to have grandchildren” it’s subtle but some people may take asking about a grandchild as insult.
