Put it on the export market as well as a land-based light strike naval aircraft. Its a unique niche for the aircraft which no other plane (except maybe the outdated Harrier and A4 skyhawk) could fill. It needs to be able to carry a light weight anti-ship missile and anti-submarine torpedo however.

Indian Navy should try and get a twin engine (GE 404) Naval LCA. In the future, we can replace the GE 404 with Kaveri Engines. This is a better option than all the other ones

Navy is very open to changes and fast inductions but Naval Tejas has very serious range issues, the weight of the aircraft is already increased with enforced landing gear and larger wing, although for Trainers they are the perfect aircrafts

If it's fully indigenous it will provide us competitive advantage, our relay on foreign aircraft should be reduced at any cost. Our focus should be on long-term not on short term goals.

Why r they ignoring the N-LCA which can carry 4.5K kg payload and fly over a 500 km combat range with a reliable F404 engine when the US can have a Single engine F35 B? They can always hand it over to the IAF and replace it later with the TEDBF in 5- 6 yrs. As far as carrying max payload is concerned why can't it carry max payload and 30% fuel and refuel in the air immediately?

Makes sense. But the Navy loves phoren maal when it comes to aircraft. Pulled out of N LCA, tried to kill NLUH keeping out the ALH, imported the NMRH, imported 12 P8 LRMP, and still pushing for 6 more... The list goes on. Taking Naval LCA will allow carrier training in India, but stop expensive training in US.

This push show only inefficiency of drdo,Ada ,Hal and Indian goverment to push production of TEDBF . Who will keep a single engine aircraft in an aircraft carrier unless its used for training purpose 😂😂
