basically haole people making cash on sugar and stuff overthrew Queen Liliuokalani bc she wanted to take back the government for Hawaiians, and they set up provisional government. Hey there im a boy who shared a room with his brother! We have an age difference of 1 year 5 months, and we shared a room until one of us reached teen years. It was.... a mixed bag. My brother basically was a tyrant and ran my childhood while i was in that room. But free playmate! I guess what im trying to say is it depends on if Wes is Evil.

I’m a girl and I shared my room with my sister until I became a tween. Completely agree it was a mixed experience but I’m glad it happened that way because it made us close (even-though we didn’t see it that way back then) and also we got to be e/o accomplices and support e/o through our silly kid problems. Although I definitely have to admit I pulled the “I’m older so I’m the boss” card a few times on her. Don’t know if it would be super different with boys but I know a ton of male friends who also shared their rooms growing up with brothers and they mostly agree there is good and bad.

Yes. When Maggie says she sees different family dynamics "just because it's different, doesn't mean it's wrong". Don't judge. I had kids when I was really young and people always assumed it was an accident or I didn't know what I was doing. However, my husband and I chose to be young parents. We got married at 19, had kids at 21. I got my bachelor of education at 20. My husband had a steady job. We were ready for the next step. Now, our daughters are 11 and 13, while I am 34. They are doing amazing, I am a proud mama 😊

Stories like these didn't seem like such a big deal when I was little, but now as a 18 years old highschool senior with really little experiences, it seems scary to me to get married át 19. It most likely won't happen anyway, and I don't want to have kids until like 28-30, but gongrats to you! 🤗 The right time seems to differ for each person😇

@@yoojinkim-rt I didn't think I could do it until my last breakup. This podcast makes me so happy to watch. Yesterday my father started having the symptoms of Covid, so I have been incredibly scared and anxious. He got tested this morning and he is presumed to have Covid, so we now have to quarantine for 2 weeks. I’m terrified of leaving my room. I have no symptoms, but I don’t want to risk it. These podcasts are really going to help me get through this because they always calm me down. Please stay safe everyone and wear a mask. My family has done everything to to keep ourselves and others healthy, and our family has still managed to get infected. Covid isn’t a joke. Be considerate and kind to the people around you. (Edit: Thank you all so much for the kind works. I really appreciate it. 💙)

Singaporean here! loved hearing you all talk about singapore! we here are so envious of everyone in big countries who can still travel domestically or at least go to the countryside or mountains or whatever, because singapore is so small we don't really have anywhere to escape to. whereas you all are envious of our airport! lol! but yes, our airport is our national treasure. my friends and i live near the airport so we frequent it a lot, especially after the Jewel was completed, and even now during covid! we just sit in front of the waterfall and stare at the greenery. we have so much greenery everywhere that it feels weird and hot and sparse when other countries don't have a lot of greenery in the cities. our lives revolve around food. love that we have malay, chinese, indian, middle eastern, american, european, japanese, etc food everywhere. i am Malay and eat malay food most of the time at home so i'm always craving for other cuisines when i go out and i love that food is so accessible here! so incredibly sad i didnt get to see you and the try guys back then. really hope you come back for another tour in the future! whenever that is

From experience, sharing a room with my sister provided us a way to connect in a more personal way. I've always shared a room with her. Now I'm 21, she is 18, we still share a room, we both go to college and it's just normal. It helped me learn how to solve problems in order to keep the peace between us. We always sneaked during the night to play and I remember helping her our of her crib in order to watch cartoons. I hold those memories dearly.

FOR ARIEL!!!: as someone with four sibling and who always shared a room with my closest sister in age, it's REALLY fun to share rooms. Sure, kids have disagreements, but it made us such good friends and made us understand each other's tendencies and to this day we share a room and LOVE it. We talk and gossip before bed a lot and are best friends. So even though it can be cool to have their own rooms (which they might choose as they get older) it's at least a sweet way to get your kids to become close and bond as children. Best of luck!!

As soon as I heard you were talking about high school relationship drama I KNEW Maggie would have something to say. I also went to an all-girls catholic high school (idk if they're all private in the states but we have plenty of public ones here), it's TOXIC. So much controlling and abusive behaviour, revenge p*rn, r*pe and sexual assault were common, perpetuation of r*pe culture and slut shaming from the teachers and staff, so much unplanned teen pregnancy, early marriage, early divorce, and the worst part was we thought that was normal. My experience was similar to Maggie's and I seriously feel for you.

About the room thing; I highly suggest separate rooms if possible. Especially once they get to the age of having THEIR friends over to hang out/have sleep overs, not just parents organizing play dates. Having my own space away from my brother (who was overbearing and as @Damian Porter put it a "tyrant") was really important to making me feel like my friends were MY friends not just people who wanted to hang out with my brother Edit: I am a boy and my brother and I are 18 months apart

My dad's best advice he every gave me was after my first breakup. "Stay busy. If you're busy, there's no time to wallow." It's gotten me through other things besides breakups, too. Stay busy with things that fill your life with joy and you'll be happy (:

My boys shared a room and they're so, so close to one another (they're adults now). It also forces them to learn to negotiate with others at a young age. It's great for their relationship and development.

Sharing rooms is great. It teaches sharing and cooperation and consideration. Having siblings at all can teach these things but sharing a room takes it to the next level. Especially as you get older. I shared a room with my sister until I was 16 and we are 3 years apart. Sure we fought as kids but it was nice to have a buddy sometimes too. Having separate rooms for little kids is a level of privilege that boggles my mind. Even if I had money for kids in separate rooms I wouldn't do it.

my boyfriend is a twin, and they have a younger brother by 2 years. they only had 2 kids bedrooms, so they all would rotate who they shared a room with. so every 3 years my boyfriend would get his own room and his brothers would share for the year. they didn’t mind, but they also had a big house to escape to when they were annoyed

I would 1,000% say yes to sharing a room. For almost the rest of their life they will share. Collage- share a room. Relationship- share a room. When we got together my husband had never shared a room and it was HARD! He was not used to sharing a space and if he had shared a room when he was young maybe he wouldn’t have had such a hard time.

Travel stories! I love them! Once we were flying Philly to Orlando for Disney, but it was during a gov't shutdown and lines were 2+ hours long, so we missed our flight. Instead of fighting for future plane seats, we walked across the airport to the car rentals, rented a car and drove 15 hours straight through to Orlando. There was also the time I left my ID at my home airport security, figured it out at the plane door as I'm the last one on and had to figure out how to get home without an ID (totally possible!). Thankfully, the airport security saved it for me and I got it the day after getting back home.

As a mom with two boys that are 22 months apart, things get interesting. They are 7 and 9 years old now,and they are super close friends, but there are times they fight like cats and dogs. They share a room with bunk beds and they love having that now but when they get older they may want to have separate rooms. One of the main reasons that they share rooms is because we have a smaller house and we have a 4 year old daughter who has a smaller bedroom to herself.

I have never listened to any podcasts before, the idea had never appealed to me, but I love the Try Wives, and knew I had to give it a shot. I have binged all their episodes in a week and now I don't know how to be patient and wait for the next one!! As a wife and mother to two toddlers myself, this has been so fun, so relatable, and so much like the experience of girlfriends hanging out that it has taken the sting out of being stuck at home. Thank you ladies!

I know I'm kinda late to this podcast...but I gotta say that I'm not really a "podcast" kind of person...however...since Covid happend...and the world went mad...being a single parent has never felt more lonely and daunting tbh. With that said, I look forward so much to these 4 ladies just talking about everything. I especially appreciate the discussions on parenting...theres so much judgment and mom shaming out there, and its so refreshing and comforting to be reminded that its okay not being perfect parents and having perfect little kids...and that it is messy and scary and happy and beautiful. Y'all are awesome...and little boys are the sweetest 😊

Ariel, about the boys sharing a room; I know for my brothers, they had their own rooms, but still chose to sleep in the same room every single night and play in the same room together at all times. My parents decided to make on of their rooms a shared bedroom with bunk beds, and the other room a playroom with all of their toys. I had my own room as the older sister, and could use the playroom too. I would say be open to both situations, if you are able to within your home. If they express interest/want to share a room then you could use the extra room for a playroom or another functionality that would work for your family.
