This is what I want in Super. I'm not saying Super sucks but it doesn’t give you near the same feeling as Z and part of that has to deal with the violence. The worst they get in super is often a bloodless hole in their chest, a bunch of scratches, or some bruising. When you saw these injuries in Z paired with the sounds of stuff like breaking bones you knew these guys were wounded not just hurt. Like if you saw Vegeta get punched through some mountains in super and come out with a black eye some scratches and holding his arm, you know he’s hurt but you don’t know how bad it is. For all you know he’s got plenty left in the tank. But in Z if Vegeta gets punched in the stomach so hard you see the imprint in his back , hear his ribs breaking , and starts coughing up blood and screaming you know it’s bad. You can sort of feel it while just watching it. Just look at the Videl fight. Idk about you guys but that was so raw I kind of felt her pain. That’s where Z shined when you saw Vegeta claw his way out of a hole in the ground covered in blood, with a clearly broken arm, and blood falling into his eye keeping it shut you knew shit was real. When a guy had you coughing up blood and shaking but you still stand up ready to keep fighting that’s where that rush of adrenaline comes from that made Z famous. When the super characters yell it doesn’t really do anything to me. But when they yelled in Z you knew that it was because while they were powering up they were also powering through the pain. The fighting through the pain is what made Z so intense and interesting to watch.

To those of you saying, I can’t believe they aired this on TV, remember that in the 90s DBZ was heavily edited, and a lot of these scenes were either toned down or not included at all. However, the Japanese broadcast was not unedited, uncut, and was shown to small Japanese children. The only way to watch DBZ unedited back then in the United States were either bootleg VHS tapes of the original Japanese dub or uncut VHS tapes that Funimation put out at the time

This is so trippy to watch! Lol. I remember watching DBZ as a kid in the 90's and any time someone gor killed off, they were "sent to another dimension". It wasn't until a family vacation to Mexico in the late 90's where I first saw DBZ in its original uncensored form and was mind fucked. Lol

Fun fact, it is IMPOSSIBLE to see this in DragonBall Z Kai. The only blood color you see is green or purple. But red blood doesn't exist in Kai. It's a guaranteed fact.
