KaitAnn, by the way, you are a beautiful young woman. I wish you only the best in your new life. My transition was the best decision of my life, at age 36 yr.10 mo. for HRT and 38 yr.2 mo. fot GRS.

KaitAnn, you are extremely smart in your approach about choice of breast size augmentation. Too many transwoman go for a size too big and that is going to backfire. I was fortunate to be able to develop my own natural breasts, 38C cup that looks fine on a large boned, 5'11" frame. You did great!!

I’m curious to know how soon you get back into lifting and what you’re doing for the cuts

Thanks so much for posting this, girl! Very informative. I'm actually getting surgery soon, too. I am wondering if you could explain more about what it was like to get put to sleep? This is the part that freaks me out!! Like, what does it feel like? How do they do it? What does it feel like when they put the stuff in, like do you get sleepy or is more like wide awake to instantly out? Could you have stayed awake if you would have tried or is it impossible? Haha. Basically whatever you remember about that part would be helpful. Thanks so much!

Hi there :) I hope you don’t mind me answering your question. I’ve had the procedure done twice now (17 years apart) and the second time was just one week ago so it’s completely fresh in my mind. The getting put to sleep part is literally nothing at all for the patient. And what I mean by that is that there is literally no awareness of it at all. Right before the procedure when your blood pressure is taken they give you an IV (in either your hand or arm) of just standard fluids to keep you hydrated. This is typical for any procedure. The IV going in was the part to bother me the most, although it’s more of a squeamish thing for me- it doesn’t really hurt. Way way less than a shot or blood draw. (Once the IV is in you don’t feel it at all and won’t notice it if you’re not looking at it.) Then few minutes later, it’s time for the surgery. The anesthesiologist tells you that he/she will add the anesthesia to your IV and that you won’t feel it and will wake up feeling like no time has passed and to count backwards from 10... And that’s exactly right. Because you don’t even hear the “10” and literally the very next second- quicker even!- you’re waking up. You wake up slowly, kind of in and out (which you don’t really have much awareness of either) until you’re fully awake (still sleepy but alert). And that’s it. That’s my experience anyway :) and what I’ve heard from everyone else who has ever been put under. It still might make you a little nervous to think about, but as far as experiencing it, you should have no awareness of it at all. Again, I hope no one minds that I responded. This post is super informative and as a week post-op, I really appreciate the way the information is delivered. KaitAnn, thank you for sharing this with us!

How long did it take to get the procedure done? Like did you only have 1 consultation and then schedule the surgery? How does it work? It’s something I’m interested in but I’m nervous lol. Also, how long after consultation did you have to wait for the actual procedure?

I had mine in october last year, but sadly I had another surgery last monday, since one implant bottomed out. First I went with teardrop 280 cc and now I actually have round 415 cc. And to be honest, they look more natural now already, since I have them under the muscle. How are your breast now, after 2 years?

Curious how it will go in a year or two. Sooo many girls , body competitors take them out nowadays because of various complications.

Hi! I’m considering breast augmentation and doing my research now. Question: How are you feeling now? Any regrets, problems or do anything differently? I’m a bit freaked out.

Idk if this will help you now, but I had surgery 04/16/2020 to have a bilateral mastectomy with male chest reconstruction cause I’m trans. So, I had my boobs chopped off, I hated the things. Anyways, everyone’s experience of going under is always a bit different, but for the most part you’re awake and then boom that’s it. There’s never usually a “drowsy” phase, they gave me propofol through my IV. Which burned in my chest, and that was the last thing I remember until I woke up again. It wasn’t event like falling asleep really, you’re just awake and then not. It passes in the blink of an eye. I was under for just about two hours, and I don’t have any recollection until I was mostly awake. I asked a question, tried to move around but was strapped to the bed so I didn’t fall or pull on any of my tubes or cords. Then I remember being in the wheelchair, then in the bathroom and vaguely getting loaded into the car. That was the last thing I remember, before passing out in the car for a couple hours. After that I was much more coherent, but you’ll be pretty out of it for a few hours after surgery. Mostly nauseas and tired, my anesthesiologist had to keep coaxing me to breathe when they were waking me up, after removing my breathing tube I was having some issue maintaining my oxygen levels. Which is pretty common for me, I’m generally a bit harder to wake up from anesthesia.

I know this is late, but I just had my surgery yesterday and the anesthesia experience was exactly like that meme with people saying "These edibles ain't sh*t!" and then next thing you know they're unconscious. The nurses said I may feel a bit dizzy, but I didn't even get to feel that, I was questioning whenever I was actually experiencing it haha
