I'm on Exemestane for 5 years ,had her2 positive breast cancer, diagnosed early stage 2 ,thank god I found lump ,im finding it really hard on these inhibitors causing bad bone pains especially at night and started to get headaches, though I'm frightened to stop taking them because of the risk of a recurrence but quality of life isn't good on them 😢

Dear Dr Tasha, do you know the stats of local vs. distant (metastatic recurrence); and recurrence after lumpectomy with and without radiation for grade 1, stage 1, multifocal IDC hormone-positive, clear lymph node, no lympho invasion, Ki67 1-2, Nottingham score 5/9% please? And for risk of lung cancer, angiosarcoma, etc. as a result of radiation therapy?

Just going through a terrible time my 34 year old daughter has just had negative mammogram & mri then routine Ct scan has showed active cancer in her lung, within a year of lumpectomy, very recent so no treatment plan in place yet very worrying for a Mum of 5 and 2 year old.

I am so sorry to hear about your daughter Debbie. I hope her treatment goes well 🙏🏽

I'm so sorry, I went through it, but I can't imagine the fear of one of my daughters being diagnosed. Sending all my love your way.

You didn’t mention PCR or HER 2+ or RCB. Those factors also make a difference.

Very nice video! At 49, got diagnosed with a 2.5 cm mixed mucinous tumor with micropapillary pattern. No lymph node involvement, grade 2, ER + 90%, PR + 30%, and lymphovascular invasion present. Had surgery, radiation and currently on endocrine therapy. Is the risk of recurrence high?

Hello Doctor what is the chance of reoccurrence in TNBC after achieving PCR both breast and lymph node after chemo and surgery. With negative genetic panrl
@drtashag2 ай бұрын
I am afraid I can’t comment on individual cases. However, having PCR after chemotherapy is very encouraging.

Doctor pls guide me with the decision... My mom of age 73 yrs now already having Parkinson disease right side dominant..Last yr when she was 72yrs old was diagnosed with rt side invasive ductal carcinoma of stage 2 which is ER n PR positive. Her lymph nodes on rt axilla were positive plus one node above clavicle was also shown in CT scan. Her oncologist started with Femara 2.5mg n later Aromasin 25mg....n for 1.5 yrs my mom has taken this medicine n it has given a great response as primary tumor regressed a lot in size plus all the lymph nodes r no more visible in CT scan now... Her oncologist sent us to the breast surgeon n told that it's ready to b operated. Yet my mom has to continue taking the same medicine Femara or Aromacin for another 4yrs even after her mastectomy. My mom is not willing for surgery n she is of mind that if medicine has responded so well n it didn't spread so why shud I go for surgery followed by radiotherapy sessions that her surgeon has suggested. At the moment we have postponed her surgery as she often becomes angry if we discuss this matter. Can u guide what worse can happen if she doesn't go for surgery n continue only on her oral medicines?

I was in remission with my breast cancer for 6 years, eastrogen positive progesterone negative, 1 and a half lymph node removal. I had a lumpectomy on my left breast , chemotherapy, radiation. I was all clear for the 6 years,, then l was diagnosed with Stage 4, after having Covid, l do think there is a correlation with that, and a trigger response from this. Anyone’s thoughts on this?

I am sorry to hear about this. Unfortunately breast cancer can recur at any time after diagnosis.

I don't understand how the reocurrance is missed until it is stage 4 if we are being checked regularly? May I ask what stage where you in your first diagnosis? Sending you love.
@nolahayes1559Ай бұрын
@@elsyromero5580 I was between Stage 2 / and Stage 3, when l was diagnosed. I went in for a routine mammogram check. And what a shock it was cancer. I had no symptoms, and there is no history of Breast Cancer in the family. .

The chemo bald heads should be a thing of the past! Hopefully soon……I believe so often chemo is unnecessary
@susantaulli6580Ай бұрын
That’s the bottom of my list of worries. That’s temporary. Hair grows back.
@AnneWilkynsonАй бұрын
I disagree about chemo not being necessary. I'm 6 years out from my diagnosis, and I would do it all again without hesitation. When I started researching and joined communities of people having or going through the same diagnosis, there were women who chose not to do chemo. So many of these women have metastatic cancer that's spread. My cousin is one. She now has it in her lungs and her liver. She claims it's the biggest mistake of her life. Regarding the hair loss, it's a small blip in the process, and it's incredible how fast it's back after chemo is finished. I had chemo, surgery, and then radiation, it wasn't fun, but I'd do it all again in a heartbeat if there's a recurrence.

What stage of breast cancer has recurrence
@drtashagАй бұрын
It depends on where it recurs. The same categories still apply. However, if the recurrence is in a different part of the body then it is stage 4.
