I'm very upset I was pushed into menopause so rapidly. My periods were still regular. How ever due to my high estrogen levels , i was told but never saw the proof on paper ...I was advised it was the better option.

We understand why you’d feel upset about how quickly you were pushed into menopause. It can feel like a lot to process, especially when your body was still on its regular cycle. It’s important to have all the information and proof to feel confident in your treatment decisions. You deserve to feel heard and informed in your journey. It is likely that the estrogen receptor levels on your tumor were indeed high. Your personal estrogen levels are not related to treatment recommendations but rather the tumor characteristics.

Tamoxifen is highly effective in people who are premenopausal and postmenopausal. The aromatase inhibitors do not work in people who are premenopausal. There are blood tests to help figure out if your ovaries are still working. Within a year after chemotherapy, periods can still come back, so some people need to have those blood tests repeated. The most common blood tests are FSH and estradiol.
