Breast Implants: Over or Under, Which is Best?

My pain level following submuscular implant with mastopexy was very high. There is no way I could have returned to work in 4-5 days. 10 days post op was the turning point for me. Finally on day 12 I could return to work. I am a real estate agent, so nothing too strenuous, but the pain and discomfort were much more than I expected.

My case was a bit different as I had mastectomy with immediate to implant reconstruction. I’ve chosen tear drop shape implants over the chest muscle. I’ve had lift and anchor type incision and smaller size breast. The result is beyond my expectations. I didn’t want it under the chest muscle for the reason what was mentioned in this video . ( the weird movement) Mine might sag a little bit over the time but I see it as close to natural look and shape and that’s what matters to me. Other methods might be more practical from medical perspectives . Thank you for your explanation doctor!

I had implants done under the muscle but a year on and they haven’t dropped into place, so having to have them over the muscle 😢 I’m worried about CC is there anything I need to watch out for?

@@justlou3004 they should drop into place if the procedure was done correctly. And no issues with scarring. I would not advise large implants over the muscle. Gravity and aging soft tissue will inevitably win and lead to low hanging breasts.

They do an ultrasound over the breast instead of the plate smash for the mammogram. Idk why an ultrasound isn't more commonly used for the mammogram anyways but I guess they need to recoup the cost of the machine they use?

@ mammography is currently the standard for breast cancer screening. Set by our societies in health care. I'm not saying it is the best. But it has been shown to be highly sensitive for the screening of the breast. Relatively inexpensive

Is it true that when you have to exchange your implant 10 years post op you’ll need a bigger size due to the stretched skin? Eventhough it’s not visible stretched ? Also can only one side be exchange if the other side has no issues at all? It’s UBM

Im trying to find out why the cuts are done straight acorss the chest rather then under the breast like they do for women who are gay and want their breast out.😢😢😢 i rather do a fat transfer then doing implants 😢😢😢
