This video changed my whole mindset on my DCIS. Being a woman of color I was scared I would be butchered or pressured to reconstruct to something that was suitable for Skin like mine which most pictures of Black women reconstruction looked butchered. I only saw a few that were beautifully done. I hope I can find a Dr. to give me nice results despite my skin color.

This is excellent thank you!! I’ve been doing a lot of research and have met with 2 plastic surgeons and reconstruction has always been an option with my team. It’s panels like this that give us that “intellectual leverage” as Dr. D. eloquently put it!

So informative! I was diagnosed December 22,2020 at at 32. DCIS, I’m also in the military. I’ve read that women in the military are at a higher risk of breast cancer. No one in my family ever had it. I had a double mastectomy on January 21.

Are there doctors near Dallas Texas who work on black women after mastectomy with spinal cord injury in wheelchairs? Or is it impossible
